Top part broke off of bottom the screen isnt working but the keybroad still works

HI taurah take the battery out of the phone. Also I want you to detach the keybroad if you have it.Now put the battery back in the phone to see if the touch screen is working if you can't get this to work contact the warrant center for verizon the # is 8664065154. ok verizon has a program to replace the phone you should check out ok. hope this help

Hi the problem you are having is with the thin data ribbon that connects the top screen to the circuit board in the bottom half.

now this then ribbon has several single strand copper wires running through it and every time you open and close the top screen this ribbon bends so as to keep the connection with the circuit board but over time these thin wires become brittle and break and this is what causes the problem you are having.

now this problem is the same with all flip and slide phone and also laptops,netbooks,portable dvd players, they all have this same thin ribbon and over time they will all get this problem.

now the only way to solve this problem is to get the part replaced no as this is such a common fault it makes the part really cheap to buy and its not that expensive to get fixed, its not something you should do yourself as you need special tools to take it apart and to also remove and refit this ribbon.

now i charge about 20 pound for doing this plus parts so it comes to about 25 pound so you need to shop around and try and get the best price you can.

how ever their is no saying it will solve the problem every time due to the fact the same symptons happen when it has been dropped and the top screen has broke if this is the case then it wont be worth getting fixed as the cost of the screen would be more than it would to replace the ds.

i work on the basis that if the problem isnt solved i will only charge for the parts i have used, not many people work like this but i do as it gives people some guarantee that they will only pay if it is working after so shop around and see what prices you can get.

some phone shops repair these so thats the best place to start looking.

When you dropped it you loosened up the digitizer connector which is number 2 under the screen. Open your iPhone and resit that wire firmly back in. That should fix the digitizer not working.

If its a 3G just unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom and use a suction cup to remove the screen. Easy. But if its a 2G then Good Luck.

There is a guy on youtube that has great instruction on taking it apart. REMEMBER. the bottom screen has two parts. The lighted part and the pressure part. Know which you need before purchasing. I had to do it three times and then a clip inside finally broke. Also, e-bay has those screens for $2 or so with $4 in shipping. Good luck.

I had a similar problem with my memory stick. I turns out that the plastic at the top of it had come loose and ripping the insides. It was harly noticable but broke it completely. You may just need to buy a new one if this is the case for you. Hope i helped.

Try cleaning the game. If you look at it in the light you may find it has some scratches or something. You see my brother has that! Love Tamsin
