Have you tried another lamp? Sometimes thats your problem, but I've seen a several occasions that the a defective power supply causes this symptom. Do you see an image flicker before the projector shutsdown? I do have some spare parts for this projector.

I'm on Ebay - gtitubro if you want to contact me through there.

SOURCE: Infocus LP70 dropped and now

try pulling the outer ring out a little while twisting it (you won't break it). then try the inner ring. if it wiggles, you need to take it apart- and that's not a pretty job.

SOURCE: pile of ##@!#@ infocus lp70 green light wont come on. should i smash it??

if the fans aren't running, it's the power supply. if the amber is on and the button's won't turn it on, there is an obstruction under the button panel. if all turns on but the lamp and you don't hear a high=pitched whir, it's the colorwheel. if you do, it's the ballast.

I solved my issue with just simply upgrading the Frimware. Which can be downloaded from infocus website.

SOURCE: InFocus LP70 color problem

No it's not the color wheel. If the color wheel stalls the lamp will shut off immediately which is a built in protection mechanism. On the LP70 and 70+ there is a multi pin connector inside located at the rear lower left of the projector. This connector connects the main board to the DLP engine electronics. This connector is horizontal and approx 2 1/4" wide and 1/4" thick and about 100 pins. I have seen this connector not seated completely and many various video artifacts occur (even the one you describe) If you or someone you know is electro-mechanically savvy it's not difficult to open the projector and make sure this connector is seated properly.
You will need a TORX T8 screw driver.

Cheers

Hello
Cooling fans have of different size and voltage ratings. The exact size is more important. You must have the damaged fan with you when you go to buy a new one. Its seating screw space, height, voltage ratings etc should be compared, and must be exact the same, otherwise the system main system control IC won't recogonise the replaced fan.
Actually this is a skilled work. If you have all the tools to open the projector, and have confidnce, go forward. Otherwise, get it repaired by any experienced service technician. OK.

Light does not come on, fan is working and green light at top keeps blinking off and on on a LP70 infocus projector

if you hear a high-pitched whir, the problem is either the ballast or the lamp. if you don't, it's the colorwheel. you could try to get the parts from an infocus service center or send it in to them for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

LP70 Infocus Projector light will not start up

if you don't hear a high-pitched whir, the colorwheel needs to be replaced. if you do, it's either the lamp or ballast. if the lamp is new, replace the ballast. you can get the parts if you want to do it yourself, or you'll have to send it in. either way, try av solutions in ny. they are an infocus service center and they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

clean the dust out of it with canned air. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. it also shortens the life of the lamp.

LP70 lamp will cycle on and off in 3 min. intervals.

go into the menu and check the lamp hours. if it's over 2000, you need to replace the lamp. if it isn't, the power supply and/or ballast is starting to fail.

Lp70 projector Error message about Fans

I had a similar problem with an LP70. my fan was sticking.
So I opened bottom cover and pulled out fan cage, there are 2 fans.
you must know which fan not running.
If you found bad one remove paper label(yellow)
you can see 3 small holes.
using wd40 few drops to holes.
then manually turn using your finger cw and ccw few times
you can feel smooth turning now.
then relabeling to hole side.
reassemble unit.
power on.
Now you can enjoy with your projector.
