To delete multiple images without formatting your card (which will work), you can delete them in "index mode." You can delete all the images in a folder by selecting [All In This Folder] with your up/down button, then press the delete button. You can see the instructions on the bottom right of page two in the bottom of the "Read This First" instructions here http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW5revised_RTF.pdf
Go to camera menu and select Initialize, that will reset camera to factory default settings and then check delete button function. If still no joy, let me know exact model number of camera that would be written at bottom.
Hey lmcconnell, Error code E:61:00 means the camera has encountered a malfunction, and you should try initializing the camera back to the factory settings. Instructions on how to do this are on page 51 of your user manual, and I have included a link to a PDF download of your manual if you no longer have it. If this doesn't work I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps! http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCT7 Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead.
