Question about Edimax (PS-3205U) Print Server
I have installed a new HP 1020 usb printer on an Edimax PS3207U Print server. The print server recognises a HP 1010 printer and prints on this satisfactorily. I have tried it on both usb ports and interchanged the cables.
I can print on the HP 1020 directly from the usb port of a local printer and this works fine. When I try to connect it to the Edimax print server the print server does not see the printer at all. I have tried setting the pc printer configuration as TCP/IP port and as a Lanmanager port, without success. I have also deleted the printer and re-installed it via pc printer control panel. There appears to be very little I can do from the Edimax configuration utility and/or web page configuration. Help please Carrie

Setting the location of the spool folder
By default the spool folder is located at systemroot\System32\Spool\Printers.
However, this drive also holds the Windows system files. Because these
files are frequently accessed by the operating system, performance of
both Windows and the printing functions might be slowed.
If your print server serves only one or two printers with low traffic volumes, the default location of the spool folder is sufficient. However, for high-volume printing requirements, to support large numbers of printers, or to support large print jobs, you should relocate the spool folder. For best results, move the spool folder to a drive that has its own controller, which reduces printing's impact on the rest of the operating system.
For information on relocating the print server spool folder, see Change the spool folder location.
