- I have a LG model GH22PL20 that worked for a while (one week) and stopped reading and never tried it burning. Right now it's recognized by the system but every disk I put on is treated as a blank, no matter if it is CD or DVD. - jorvel72Jan 03, 2009

My DVD Rw does not read normal cd's but it reads dvd cd's. can anyone help me please.....

As i told my lg supermulti dvd writer is able to read & write DVD's BUT NOT able to sense CD's.
All it started when I was Erasing a Rewritable CD Using Nero. During this erasing process, by mistake I ended a process that was required for erasing ,by using Task Manager .
I took several steps as follows BUT IT DID NOT WORK:
1.I reinstalled my windows xp sp 2 professional.
2. I Cheked the IDE cable & power supply.THEY were good.
3.I took my DVD writer to my friends house.IT didnot Work winth his PC as well.
My warranty period is over.
So please help me .
