I'm not an expert in memory, but if it was me, I would take it to Geeksquad or Firedog, so that they could install it and configire it correctly.

Your problem can be caused by a bad memory.Or if you upgraded your memory recently make sure your motherboard can handle the memory you installed last. Some computers require memory to be installed in pairs two 256s or two 512s, try to remove one of them.

Memory upgrade not recognized (DFI ns35-sl)

U have to use one stick of 512 or two sticks of 256. Motherboard not likely to recognize sticks installed with different capacities.

My Dell C600 won't recognize the 2 new 256 mb sticks of RAM

i think you need a same brand of 256 for it to work? and when you buy something for your computer make sure that the one you both is the same brand or code with your 128 for example you have 128 ddr2 sdram so you can only upgrade it with 256 ddr sdran or 512mb,1gb,2gb ddr sdram.

HP Bus. Inkj 2800... Memory Upgradeable?

First thing to do is check out the User Guide. If you do not have one, here is a link:

HP BIJ 2800 User Guide

Look under Installing Accessories for instructions.

The printer looks like it can hold 2 DIMMs, either 64MB or 128 MB. Here are the HP part numbers from the manual:

HP 64 MB SDRAM DIMM Part NO - Q1887A
HP 128 MB SDRAM DIMM Part NO - C9121A

I would contact the HP Store directly to see what they have available for your printer. You can do it online at HP Parts Store or by phone at 1-800-227-8164 Mon.-Fri. 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM EST.

What are the ram limits on a compaq presario 5000a. I put 256 ram in the compaq and it only reads 128. Why?

You can install up to 3 sticks of 512 mb of memory. Did you add a 256 stick to the already-existing 128? You need to put DDR266/PC2100 memory. To troubleshoot, remove the 128 stick and put your 256 in and see if it is recognized. You will know right away from the bios screen. Memory needs to be the same type.

Memory count problems

Take out the 512mb and leave in the 256mb and 128mb and see what happens. Switch the memory around to other slots. It may be the speed of the chips. They should all be the same.
