Upgrade the BIOS

Hello you can try this site:

http://global.shuttle.com/products/productsDownload?productId=467&osId=4

But you have to be 100 % sure its the right model
Flashing the wrong bios WILL destroy the mainboard !!!!!!!!!!!

Find the right model here:

http://global.shuttle.com/download/download

Use even this software:

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

To ID your mainboard. It can also tell you what bios version you have.

Best luck

Bios file for M6TBA 2A69KBOCC-00 OEM TBA1124D

Access: http://www.wimsbios.com

It is _THE_ source for identifying your motherboard, and linking to the most-recent BIOS for your motherboard.

However, unless you have a _good_ reason, you probably should _NOT_ attempt to update the BIOS.

Also, if you have to ask "how" and "where", you probably should _NOT_ attempt to update the BIOS, unless you consider your motherboard to be "expendable", and a "learning-experience".

Replace and Change the BIOS on it. Go to the Center which you buy this shuttle and ask for a BIOS Chip which can help you to test on it if that BIOS chip have a problem of yours.
I usually if even in the BIOS won't boot up, i change it.

BIOS information is needed to boot the computer, you must replace your BIOS chip. You can call the manufacturer of the motherboard and ask for a new BIOS chip.

You are using SiS motherboard. Visit http://www.sis.com.tw and from download or support section, check the model of your motherboard. If a BIOS Update is ever made, it will be available there. (ehteshamhusain@gmail.com)

Bios

You must enter the bias menu, every PC has a hot key that you press repeatedly just after you start and before the operating system starts up, call or consult the manufacturer for the hot key location, mine is F2, after you get into the menu for changing the bios just follow the on screen menu information..

I did go to Shuttle to look for a bios upgrade & Shuttle does not list any bios files. I found one bios file at Softpedia & downloaded it to see the date. The .rom file is dated 11/28/2003. I gather your 2003 is close.

The current bios does not allow you to clock the CPU to its correct frequency.
AMD XP 2400+ frequency
Bus speed (MHz) = 266
Clock multiplier = 15

You can try turning on the over clocking, see the manual page 57. These setting would be normal for the AMD XP 2400+ CPU.
I'm looking at the max frequency for the Shuttle is topped out at
198MHz. As far as the IDE hard drive I'd like you to download the manufactures bootable floppy software & check the drive with this floppy disk. (Works in a dos like mode). No windows involved. The Mfg's software will test & repair the drive if needed & will also set the drive up, set cluster size, choose NTFS FAT or any other FAT you wish for windows XP. It's better than windows format. You'll fine there are other options you can turn on & off if you wish. (If you run the Mfg's software, disconnect any other hard disk drive by removing the data cable).
On a personal note, I always use the Mfg's bootable software to set up any drive be it IDE or SATA I, SATA II.
Shuttle site's.
