Question about Palm Treo 650 Handheld

Double entries in Palm and Outlook

I recently switch over from Palm to Outlook Calendar in my Treo. The first few syncs worked fine. But now I noticed the syncing is taking longer and longer. Now it is up to 45 minutes. Out of curiosity I decided to go back and look at entries in Outlook Calendar for a year or more ago. Looks like eachtime I sync, the entries re-sync and now I have up to 4-5 entries for the same thing. In addition, I can not open any of my entries in Outlook calendar, nor can I print my calendar.

Has anyone had this problem?

The closest I have come has been from a firmware update for the Palm phone. After the update, the phone saw my original contact list and created a second contact list from what was present in the Palm calendar.

If you have changed firmware and this issue started happening, you'll need to delete the duplicates in Outlook or it will continue to try and update/save them. Also, this is most likely why your sync sessions are taking more time...the phone is trying to read the different entries already present in outlook, and it is taking time to default when it cannot open the entries. Multiply that time by 4 or 5 times per entry and you have a very long sync session.

Treo 650 Sync w/ Outlook 2003
Please try the following: 1. Pop the Software Installation disk that came with your treo into your pc and allow it to autoplay. 2. After the disk begins playing, you will be prompted to choose your language-do so. 3. After a second a new dialog box will appear-Select the option "Change your syncronization method" 4. Select "Use Microsoft Outlook to manage Calendar, contacts, tasks and more. 5. Perform a hotsync 6. Open your versamail and hit the sync button

Calendar Not Syncing
OK. Hope this helps you because it fixed my problem. Go into palm desktop. Go to hot sync, click on custom Go to Calendar (Outlook) and double click on that. At this point click on settings. Under conflict resolution choose "outlook wins". Then go out and check syncronize files and set as default. Click done and this should resolve the issue. Reply if this is confusing.

Treo 650 won't sync with Outlook calender on my Windows XP Pro desktop?
I was tring all the possible ways to resolve the issue. At last got a solution for my problem. Hope this will work for you all. Download the "OutlookConduitUpdater.zip" and install. This will resolve the calender "do nothing" while sync.

Outlook not synching
This is how I got it working. Don't use wireless sync software, someting is definitely buggy with it. Here is what I did to resolve sync errors: 1. Perform a hard reset on the Palm 2. Go to the Palmone folder on your hard drive (C:\Program Files|PalmOne. Look for the Backup folder. Rename this folder Backup Old. 3. Connect the Treo to your computer. 4. Right click the Hotsync icon in the taskbar and click Custom. Change the four Outlook conduits (Calendar, Contacts,Tasks,Memos) to Desktop overwrites Handheld. 5. Run a Hotsync with the Treo. It should sync without errors. If you need to install additional applications you can add them now

Sync with Outlook
creat new calendar. Your msoutlook has a problem. Try this turn around. PC SETUP: ON MSOUTLOOK click on go to menu tap on FOLDER LIST to reveal the listing. On the outlook today tab right click and creat new folder - with calendar entries ON HOTSYNC BUTTON Go to Custom Highlight calendar tap on change tap on Settings On setting tap on browse then choose the new calendar you created. tap OK and set as default. then do a hotsync

Original sync worked all others failed with 650 and Outlook 2003
I was ready to give up completely. Uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing worked. Here is what I did to resolve sync errors: 1. Perform a hard reset on the Palm 2. Treo 650 calendar not syncing back to Exchange
I am experiencing the exact same issue. Are you saying that this only occurs with one of your 650s? If so then maybe it is a hardware issue.

Calendar Sync issues with Treo 650
Tryy this -- Go to Chapura.com and purchase the pocket mirror software. I have Sprint service and that additional software has resolved my synch issues.

Treo 650 from Cingular is not hotsyncing with Outlook Calendar?
Have you setup an EAS account in VersaMail? The VersaMail application on your Treo 650 supports Exchange ActiveSync, which allows synchronization of Email and Calendar wirelessly with Exchange Server 2003. If an EAS account exists on the handheld the Calendar conduit will disable itself to avoid duplicates. Go to VersaMail on your Treo650 Select Menu: Accounts: Account Setup Check to see if any EAS accounts exist on the device by selecting and account, then Edit... One the first screen check Mail Service. Do any of them say "Exchange Activ..." If yes you'll need to delete that account to sync calendar entries.
