I am using intel 915 gav baord with 3.0 processor ht enabled.using nvidia geforce 7200gs with 768 mb ram,my system shuts down with green light on the cpu.i did the processor fan cleaning and by mistake i removed the paste on it.i dnt know what to use and how much and what material.also the temperature of the processor zone is very high.help me please i am fed up of overheating.
Hi harjeet83, click this link for thermal grease.
The amount of grease to use would be half the size of a dime & just as thick as a dime. As you seat the heatsink over the processor the thermal grease will spread it's self over all of the CPU surface.
It does matter as you have noticed.

Better check the compatibility of your board first for the video card you are using
