Your CCD is dead. i have met this problem. Your visor and tft screen work if you play a miniDV in your sdc230. In fact, no input image from your CCD.

here is the part. Remove only two screws, closest to the lense, and pull the optical **** cover strait up. There you will find a big black thing with a couple brown flat cables on it. Now you have to remove the front cover. Remove the screw on the bottom and then the one next to the lcd. It should slide strait out the front easy. Dont force it.

Pull the camera strait out. It should pop out quickly. Now you have a black box with a green computer chip board thing on the back. THAT IS YOUR CCD. Hurray! Remove the two black screws and gently remove the brown cable by flipping that flappy thing.

Samsung TL110 Digital Camera Has A White Screen I probably only ever dropped it once or twice and that was MONTHS ago. NOW there is a white screen on the camera and no matter what I tried, it will not...

Since you are able to see the menu items and stuff this is not an LCD screen problem , as you have already figured out the hardway. I have seen this problem appear either due to a faulty battery or a malfunctioning CCD-image sensor.

In both cases (LCD or CCD) this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

I suggest check THIS LINK for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD (Charge Coupled Device) and next contact your Sony service.
I strongly suggest (taking into consideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.

Hope this helps

SAMSUNG S1070 - When I take pictures, white lines appear on them. They don't appear on the screen when I am not taking a picture, and they do appear when I transfer them to my computer. I have tried...

How do outdoor pictures look when taken with the camera? If overexposed, first check that your camera is in automatic mode, and not some other manual exposure mode of the camera. Next, a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Image too bright plus the white lines

Hi!
I had a similar problem with my powershot A430 recently. I took it to a canon service center and they identified the problem as "shutter unit problem". My cam was under warranty so they fixed it for free and also replaced my lens (even though i didnt ask for it!). :-)
Take your cam to canon; they will fix it. All the best!

This sounds like the CCD sensor is faulty ( this is the device that generates picture in both v-cams and normal digital cameras and sits behind the lens ). Playback is fine but no image ( or very 'noisy' image ) in capture mode. Easy to repair but one has to put a new CCD block in.

White images

the place to go is the Samsung Tech Support team This is not a 'self' fixable problem# It is a firmware fault which may be fixable by Samsung Free or for a modest charge - depends on the age of the camera. I the charge is not modest then the next stop is a new camera
