Hello jzwakman,

HP does make this possible in several different ways. You can scan to OCR software (optical character recognition) or you can scan your document to an image. You may also scan directly to e-mail.

To do this, you will need to become familiar w/ the HP Director Software and w/ managing your scanning from the All-In-One itself.

You can find many helpful links on HP's web site for your All-In-One Machine - including HOW TO'S on scanning. Please, see the links below.

Please, let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Thank you,
BJ

    Hello jzwakman,

The link I provided you for HOW TO: SCANNING did not work.

Please, try the HOW TO USE: SCAN link below. If it still does not work, please, click on the HOW TO USE link and select SCAN from there.

    Hello jzwakman

How did it go? Did the information and links I provided you w/ enable you to email a document that you had scanned OK?

I DO hope that is the case. :) If it isn't, please, post back here and we'll continue to assist you.

If it is the case, would you kindly take just a moment to close the problem by assigning a FIXYA rating for my "solution"? I would be very grateful for your generosity and show of appreciation.

Thank you once again for using FixYa! Have a beautiful day.

No scanning option in my HP office jet 5610 All in One

I had the same problem for months. I couldn't solve it but found a work around. Place the document to scan in the scanner.

Open MS Paint (Start/Programs/Accessories/Paint). Click on File in the menu bar, then from Scanner or Camera. It scans!

2.) Click the "Build to One PDF" icon to create a PDF document contains all of the scanned documents.

I have a hp office jet 5610 with document feeder. When I scan a multipage document the first page comes out ok, but the second and succeding pages have a single vertical line through them about 1/3 of the...

The way to fix this is to do the following: lift the lid, clean the glass with window cleaner and a paper towel. (WARNING! Spray window cleaner onto the paper towel not the glass. Spraying directly onto the glass could cause you to get shocked or worse short out the officejet.) Wipe glass with dry paper towel.

On page 112 of the owner's manual it shows how to open the document feeder. Spray some window cleaner (just to were its damp) onto the swab and gently clean the the glass. take a paper towel and dry the glass.

This should take care of any lines on scanned images.

Hp Office Jet 5610 all in one to print on another hp printer

If you had installed all of the software for your HP 5610
Your other HP printer will automatically be installed
Just plug in your printer into an open usb slot
This will also be set as the default printer
In very rare case, you may need a software driver for the second printer
