Magicolor 7300 printing everything pink

My Magicolor 7300 is having a problem with printing an excessive amount of magenta toner. Pages come out looking very pink. This problem comes and goes without any explanation, it will be fine for two or three weeks then right back to the same problem. The printer technician has come and looked at it several times but has been extraordinarily unhelpful, I don't think he actually knows anything about this product. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong??? I am this far from taking it out back and beating the **** out of it!!

Change immediately the Magenta tone, if you haven't done it yet, as the toner dust is probably spreading toner inside the printer, and this may cause additional damage.
If you do not fix it by replacing toner cartridge you should check the drum for the color giving problems, and eventually replace it. Also check that the fuser lamp is working (if it is not working at all you ge t a diagnostic) and heating properly. A defective thermistor or fuser lamp may cause the toner not fixing on documents.
Also a mechanic fault in the toner changer carousel can also give you similar troubles.

Excess cyan toner is on electrostatic transfer sheet even after wiping it. All black and white pages are printed with cyan background.I am even using original cartridges.

Since you have Cyan toner in places where it should not be then the only possible cause is a defective Cyan Toner cartridge. I worked on one just last week where the customer complained about Magenta toner on their prints. I also noticed Magenta toner on the Transfer Belt just as you see Cyan toner on the Transfer Belt. I replaced the Magenta Toner Cartridge and everything cleared up nicely. The Transfer Belt Unit can also cause similar problems but it would not be ONLY one color like Cyan. It would be a mixture of all colors. My bet is replace the Cyan toner and you will be fine. If you have an old empty one just shake it up a bit and try it as well. This might allow you to verify before buying a new cartridge.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

All toner cart's replaced, new toner heads about 1000 pages ago, new waste tray. Printing colors ok but anything with black in it comes out blotchy or faded.

(1) If it takes developer as well as toner you will need to change the black developer.

(2) Also check the voltage is correct

(3) check that the toner path is not blocked

lets know how you get on

Magicolor 5430dl, "No Toner Magenta" error

Hi this might work, have you tried to remove the toner and re-seat it??
If this doesnt work very carefully take the toner somewhere well ventelated preferablly outside and give it a good shake for about 15-20 seconds, this frees any clogged toner there may be.

Failing all of that you would want to try outting a new toner in and see what happens.

There may be a release lever for the print head assembly which would allow you to remove the print head and clean the excess ink from it. If it appears to get better the more pages you print it may be just a matter of time and lots of pages before it cleans itself.
Try running the print head cleaning utility multiple times to help reduce the amount of ink on the print head. This could take quite a few times before it gets better.
