The first thing to fail on a washer is the lid safety switch. It's right under the top, a little tab on the lid pushes it. Lift the top, check the switch. To test it: temporarily connect the two wires to it together. If the machine spins, replace the switch.

Our Whirlpool AWZ412 washer/dryer just stopped during the wash cycle. It did seemed to have moved 5 cm out of place, possibly due to a disbalance during the cycle. We tested the outlet, swiched the machine...

This could be the door latch switch that has failed or came loose, it may also be that the off balance load caused such a bad vibration that the wires have come loose or broken to the motor.

Whirlpool AWZ412 (1200): How do you remove the soap dispenser? I need to clean the water inlet holes above. I've tried lifting it and squeezing it. But there seems to be catching on the left side, and...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is a common problem with many machines.

Try the following- in the second and third cases whilst looking from underneath!

Top catch- push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
  • release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit). You may have to push the bottom of the dispenser upwards.
  • lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath. Again you may have to push the bottom of the dispenser upwards.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

We can not pull out the detergent tray on our Whirlpool awz412 Washer

it takes a lot of force to pop the tray out. My advice is when you get so stressed you want to snap it off, STOP, walk away for a half an hour and come back to it later with a cool head. It comes out by just pulling it hard, it feels like you are going to break it, but u wont. The catch is located on the underside of the tray and is a solid part so it wont break.
