Check that this is not caused from a stuck button, or a defective remote recalling the menu.

If it is not the remote, then you will probably need to replace the control board or the button assembly.

After lamp replacement, make sure that lamp cover is properly fixed on its location and if TV still does not turn On then it is ballast power supply issue, qualified TV tech will fix it.
If you think you can repair ballast supply and have enough knowledge about TV repair, let me know to provide you technical info about that.

Philips lcd tv doesn't turn on no power at all

I replaced 3 capacitors on the powerboard. They were listed as 16v/1000uf and all 3 had popped(the tops raise up). I learned on another forum that replacing these capacitors to 24v/1000uf would fix the problem and...it did. My LCD works fine now.

Supposedly all the powerboards were sub-contracted out to another company. To verify exactly which capacitors to change I looked up pics of the powereboard on E-Bay and was not surprised which ones had been changed. It cost me $5 to fix my LCD TV.

The source is E1, unless you are trying to display something froma camcorder or security cam.
Philips does not provide enough cables with this product - they only provide you one set with which to PLAY a movie. You will need another red, white and yellow cable with which to RECORD. If you have a cable/satellite box, connect a 2nd red, white and yellow cord from cable box OUT to Philips AV IN. Switch the SOURCE on the Philips remote to E1, and your TV to whichever source you have the original red, white and yellow plugged into. You should get picture, and be able to record now.

This is a Polaroid brand.
The failure on these TV sets is originating from the power supply assembly not providing a clean DC voltage to the main board.
The power supply will need to be repair since there aren't service parts available.
I could fix the power supply for you.

Philips Magnavox 17MD255/17 LCD TV had AC voltage applied.

It seems your "power regulator" a small unit inside tv device has damaged due to wrong power supply. In this case usually the power capacitor burns and few other electronic components like triodes. Get the help of a electronic chip technician to replace the damaged components.

Hope it works.

Go to this link; http://www.usasupport.philips.com/productDocuments.html?ProductCode=55P834199&subCat=STANDARD_PROJECTION_TV_SU_US_CONSUMER they have the manual, troubleshooting, FAQs etc. I think pages 13-19 should explain what you need. Unfortunately online Philips do not still sell replacement remotes for this set, contact them for more info, they should have an alternative replacement available; http://www.usasupport.philips.com/casesubmitbridge.html?ProductCode=null Hope this helps, please post again if you need more info :)
