then search your model and look for the manual and download it saving it to your desktop or documents for future use but you will need adobe reader installed to be able to read it

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista,
but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then
replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall
your old operating system, you must have the original installation
disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into
your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain
the hard disk space used by Windows Vista,
reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling
your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.

You may want to consider upgrading rather than downgrading.
You need to reinstall Windows again from scratch using the Recovery CD, if you have not got it you can purchase one from Acer.
Otherwise you nee a Windows installation CD with the product installation code and after you have installed Windows you need to install the device drivers for the devices that are installed on your Acer.
You can download the drivers from the Acer WEB site Make sure you select the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers you that require matches the Windows version that is installed on your laptop. Use this link to get to the Acer support :- http://www.acersupport.com/notebook/index.html
Yes you can, good choice. one thing the comment above me didnt mentioned was that you need to change the settings on your disk in BIOS to native IDE and not sata.(if sata the windows installation doesent find your DISKS.) good luck
If it's not physically damaged you can fix it yourself. Could be a driver conflict, have you installed any new programs lately?
In your Start menu search, type "Device Manager". Open DM and click the + next to "Imaging Devices". Find your webcam and double click it. What does it say on the "General" tab for "Device Status"? You can go to the Driver tab and "Update Driver". Try letting Windows find the best driver for you. If it tells you that you already have the best driver installed, but it still won't work, try uninstalling the driver and updating it again.
Your webcam drivers can also be found on your recovery discs, and Acer's website.
you can not install under windows environment if it is a down grade. i thought maybe that is how you are doing because you said when you click intall...?? you have to boot your XP home from the cd drive and there you follow the instructions on how you wanted it installed. in XP series, you only get to use the mouse when windows is almost ready for intallation. but initial setup is in DOS mode only.
