Depending on model,,, a top loading machine does not require as much reinforcemnt as does a front loader. i would overbuild it with many 2x4 supports and 5/8 to 3/4 plywood.. you want it to be REAL stable..

Are you using correct thread and needle for the material? You can try using tissue paper underneath the material and tear it off afterwards. Or go to a sewing shop where you can buy dissolvable paper when material is washed. :-)
The size of the needles depends on what kind of material you will be sewing. A finer needle for finer material and a coarser needle for heavier material. :-)
You may need to use a walking foot with your machine as stretchy fabrics are hard for the feed dogs to 'grip' and pull the material through under the needle.... you will probably need to change needle as well... there should be a helpful video on YouTube that will tell u all about sewing with stretchy fabrics and how a 'walking foot' works... hope that helps.
Good question! "No" is the simple answer, but washing is easy nonetheless. Here is some more detailed, general advice about washing:
The fabric parts should not be machine washed. Instead they should be hand washed and do remember to use a mild liquid detergent, preferably a non-biological one, or mild soapflakes. Never scrub fabrics with abrasive material or strong detergent.
Always dry the seat naturally; i.e. on the washing line please note that some fabrics, especially navies, are prone to colour loss if abrasion is used during cleaning. You are recommended not to rub localized marking. Refer to the product instructions for washing method. Colour loss can also be caused by sunlight. Do not leave your product in direct sunlight unnecessarily. Never use a tumble dryer or try to dry in front of a fire, as the high temperature may cause damage to the seat.
Reinforced parts such as hoods can be soaked, rinsed well and dried, as per the seat. The carrycot can be sponged clean with mild soapflakes and excess water removed with a dry cloth. Allow to dry naturally.
Water draining is indicative that the drain valve is left open allowing water to escape even during regular/wash cycle and not only on drain/wash cycle completion. this could be brought about by: 1. laundry material, debris, safety pin, clips or some other foreign material has lodged itself prohibiting the drain valve in closing properly; or 2. the mechanism (solenoid) closing the valve is jammed in the open position.
Corrective measure calls for inspection and possibly cleaning or solenoid/control mechanism repair or replacement. Often these can be found at the bottom or near bottom of the machine below the tub.

due to weight and normal motion during wash/spin a very sturdy floor is necessary under front loads also some floors are a little slick and sliding may occur ck for weak floor and maybe some kind ok rough cushion under feet to reduce sliding also if on pedistals even more vibration may occur be sure all screws in pedistal are secure usually 4 from top onto bottom of washer also adj legs to lower unit as close to floor as possible and tighten lock nuts
