What caused the same problem on mine was the supply tube was not long enough and was dumping water behind the panel (which would eventually freeze and stop the fan). After 3 trys they finally got it fixed.

Your freezer must be at least 8 degrees before it will make ice, so check the temperature..

also you may need to change your water valve

SOURCE: kenmore side by side - water dispenser not

Hi

Check whether the water dispenser arm is pushed in, it opens a solenoid to allow the water to flow into the glass. Also your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does try a hair dryer blowing where the water line is at the dispenser for a few minutes.
See if you hear the noises coming from the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in to the unit when you try the water. If you do hear it working, disconnect the line coming out of the valve and see if water comes out when you try the water. Try this test bellow:-

Go to the bottom of the freezer door and remove the hinge cover. You will see a tube there. There is an attachment there that you can remove one side of. Take a bowl and put the part going to the back of the fridge in the bowl. Push the button to dispense water and check the bowl to see if it lets any water out. If there is no water, look behind the crispers in the fridge side and see if that container is frozen. If it is not, replace the water valve. If there is water, your tube in the door is frozen. You will need to defrost the freezer door line near the hinge side with a hair dryer or empty the fridge and unplug it for 24 hours. This will allow the tube to defrost and it may never happen again. If it does you will have to replace the whole door or keep defrosting it every time it freezes up.

There is a screen filter in the valve where the water comes into it. It can also stop up with sediment.

Ice maker works but not water dispenser

Here are the steps I took to fix thi:. First, if you tapped into a copper line near your sink, turn off the off the tap completely and turn it back on again. Why? Occasionally, calcium deposits will build there and cut down your water pressure. You may have enough pressure to run your ice maker, but not enough to push the ice out of the line (I'll talk about this later). Turning the tap on and off breaks up the calcium. This will also fix an ice maker that's slow to make ice or makes hollow cubes.

Next, I just kept running my water pump (about sixty seconds or more at a time) until the water finally started to come through. When it did, a few inch-long pieces of of ice came through -- telling me that the problem was a frozen water line. If running the water pump several times doesn't work (I think it took me six tries), consider turning off your fridge for a while (be sure to remove food and pack in dry ice).

Water dispenser inside fridge and ice maker in freezer part in bottom both quit working.

There can be many reasons for no water supply. Line feeding the refrigerator is clogged or blocked. The water control valve that turns water to ice maker and dispenser is defective or the water filter located inside your refrigerator is in need of change. I will be here to help you go through the steps. Let me know when you are ready, Thanks, Sea Breeze

In door water and ice cube not working

Water dispenser is a simple touch switch in door energizing a solenoid water valve behind ventilation grate above refrigerator. Water tube runs down into and ends at ice dispenser chute. Should hear solenoid click at top of fridge when activate water touch switch. Can unhook discharge side of solenoid valve temporarily to prove water output. If water dispenser tube acts blocked it could be frozen where it ends-look up the hole at the bottom of refrigerator control buttons.
Ice maker is totally different system. No clicking when push ice button but ice in bulk tray may mean the simplest of malfunctions: Ice bin not pushed in the last half inch if ice auger not lined up with drive pegs. There are hidden switches behind ice bin that need to be engaged or nothing will happen in the ice maker: no auger noise, no clicking, no new ice making. Ice bin will be flush with sheet metal if it is in the right spot. Also plastic juice rack won't hang properly if ice bin not pushed in all the way.

Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Either your water tank in the fridge froze up, the waterline that goes up the freezer door from the bottom hinge froze, or the switch that your glass hits is damaged. Do you hear any humming or noises when you put your glass up to get water?
