Creative inspire P580 not working properly

Hi, I bought 3,5 years ago a set of 5,1speakers creative inspire P580. The problem is that the last 6 months i cannot use them, cause the 3 of the 5 peripheral speakers do not work. I checked it better and i found out that the problem is in the sub woofer. The outputs for one front, the center and one rear speaker do not function. Is there anything i can do to fix them or getting them to the trash-can!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

First of all thanks a lot for responding!

I checked it again and i realised that the problem is not at the wires or at the speakers. The problem is at the woofer.

There are three outputs that are not functioning. The other two are O.K. I checked each speaker in the one that functions and they were ok. Possibly the circuit "that gives the sound" to the outputs is broken or "burned".

Any other idea? (Just getting them to the trash)

    Anyway, thanks!

I have the P580 5.1 set also and after 5 years only the right front driver is working. The sub still works but no sound coming from other speakers. It is not the speakers because if I swap the speakers to the right front driver they ALL work. This concludes that the drivers for the other 4 are defective.

Actually...It has been the fact that speakers have a very minimal guarantee when compared to the other peripherals. This is a very common problem faced by many people.

What you are supposed to do is just replace each and every wire connected to your speakers with the new one.You can get the new wires from the market. That way your sub speakers will get fixed.

Coming to the woofer, just give it for solders check. There may be soldering problem inside the speakers.

Creative Inspire 5200 system won't work

Hi. Check your speaker system with a different audio device like iPod or any MP3 Player using the same jacks. If the speaker system gives out sounds then nothing is wrong with it... if no sounds come out, then you know what I mean...

Try to replace the speaker of your sub-woofer... maybe that can fix it!

Connect Creative 5.1 A500 speaker system to Phillips DVD 3256

moz-screenshot.jpg 2d65f17.jpg
Just buy two connectors(shown above). Its having two holes upside.
1. Connect the connector to one hole of the other.
2. Connect the audio cable to the dvd.
3. Then connect the connectors to the other side of the audio cable.
4. Lastly, connect the three stereo output cables of the Creative speakers to the three holes of the connector simultaneously.
I have tried this at home with my Creative Inspire M5300 speakers and philips dvd. All the five speakers are working.

Creative Labs Inspire 5.1 5200 Speaker System

You could test the speakers on another computer or another type of player.
As for testing the speaker itself you might want to open them up and look for rust.. Moisture could have gotten inside and ruined them.
That is the best that I can do.
