Your problem may be an adjustment. Try your tv's remote zoom, but it's prob your cable/sat remote. Look at bottom right side of recon, hand remote. If not try resetting tv and or box.

Image too big for screen

I have the same tv.
On your remote push menu, then go to settings, and then screen. Put the auto wide to on. And keep the picture mode on normal, not the zoom or wide zoom. If its in HD it will fit the screen. If its not in HD it will crop the sides. This worked for me, hope it works out.

I have two Sharp Flat Screen TV model # LC-26SB14U. One is hooked up to a regular Dish Network HD receiver. The other is hooked up to a HD DVR receiver. Both are hooked up to the same Phillips DVD player....

if you using the component input on both tvs I will check the settings on the receivers, "HD setup", the difference is because the settings are set one on 480i and the other on 1080i

The picture is bigger than my screen

Have you tried the "Format" (*) button on the lower left hand corner of the remote? That cycles through the HD 'normal', 'stretch', 'partial zoom', etc modes (I may not have the precise names here).

I think the Menu settings should be 16x9.

My tv keeps changing from standard picture mode to dynamic

If you are using a HD cable/satellite box and it sounds like you are, you need to change the Apect Ratio or Zoom feature off automatic in the box, just because it is set on the tv does not mean the box doesn't have it's own feature, another thing if you are using a HDMI or component cables for HD the HD signal is the optimal picture for viewing and can disable some picture settings from your tv because it is sending the best picture it can and doesn't want you to alter it, This is common on most tv's nowadays

Going nuts!!

If you are using Dish Network, while in SAT mode, hit the star key on the remote (also labled FORMAT). It will start scrolling through certain modes: zoom, partial zoom, normal, stretch... etc)

Cant see all of screen

You should have a button or setting on the remote that says "picture size" or "aspect". One of those is set too "zoom" mode which will cut off the bottom and top of the frames. You want it to be in 16:9,Normal or Full mode (or whatever your set call it) to get the correct aspect. Or if you have a HD satellite rcvr. you might of placed it in the zoom mode as well.

Widescreen thinks it's a big screen

Information as to the type of signal input is needed to resolve this problem. Does it appear in zoom mode when playing a dvd, or just in catv mode? Some times an HD cable box must be reset to a particular aspect ratio. This can be done by reading the owners manual of the cable box manufacturer. Scrivitron
