Book fell on laptop now computer won't go to home page and reads "check cable"...can it be fixed by systems cd rom disc or does it need mechcanical repair...please advise libby and jason...

Hello LM907,
When you say the computer won't go to 'home page' are you referring to the internet home page that it normally defaults to such as MSN or Yahoo? If so.. then go to the internet and once there select the [TOOLS} tab up top.. at the bottom of that tab select [INTERNET OPTIONS] you can type in the window where you want the home page to be.. for example..if you want it to start with Yahoo.. you can type http://www.yahoo.com/ or.. if you are on the homepage that you want to be on.,select {USE CURRENT} and that will make that page your default /home page when you log in to the internet.. I am not sure I answered your queston but if I didn't .. then please elaborate on what it is you need..I will try to help you..
