If the ECU is going bad, you will get no power to the fuel pump. Might not even be getting spark when cranking. Try leaving the ignition turned on for a few minutes, to see if the check engine light comes on and if the fuel pump relay energizes. Search this site for the Delayed start check engine light problem.
If your check engine light does not come on, in the dash, when you turn on the ignition, then your ecu needs to be repaired. Search on this site for delayed start check engine light problem.
If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking, at the times
when it won't start, and the relays are clicking and buzzing, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will
only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what
controls that. ECU is likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem
typical of early 90's jeeps. Reasonably priced repair or replacement services for your
jeep ECU are available on ebay.
Regarding your no spark condition....if your check engine light does not light up on the dash when you turn on the ignition, before cranking, then your jeep ecu might be in need of repair.
The best way to reset the maintenence light after you have resolved the problem is to disconnect the battery.
First disconnect the battery (negative terminal)
Let the disconnected battery sit for at least 15 minutes
After 15 minutes reconnect the negative cable
The reason to leave it disconnected for 15 minutes is to give the capasitors time to fully discharge their charge. If after doing this procedure and your light comes back on you need to check if there is any maintenence procedure that may have been missed or have the codes read.
These jeeps have a safety fuel shut off in case of an accident. And a hard jarring can shut off. it should tell you where the switch is in your owners manual, All you have to do is press the reset button on it
Could be one of several items...I'd check the fuel pump relay, auto shutdown relay and the ignition switch itself. I'd bet on it being one of those relays but, we all have been fooled at least once!!! I'd also make sure that body and engine grounding is good and clean. Relays can't work properly without a good ground.
It's a module under dash programmed to turn on Maintenance light. You can pay $80 to replace module or pull wire going to module and save $80. BTW, it's there to tell you to replace your Oxygen sensor.
