If you don't use your pc for gameing, assumeing the motherboard still works!

you could buy a PCI video card

Here is a example card you could buy

Before you buy, make sure the motherboard works! becouse if the motherboard is too damaged it wont work at all and you would waste your money on a pci card.

Hello,i have 601-686A motherboard(yes it's old) at country side and pretty sure that i'm using on board video card now(8 mb),anyways was wondering if it supports a radeon 9250?On System specs it...

Does your old AGP card got three "cuts" in her fitting board ? If yes your Radeon 9250 must have same fitting shape too. Otherwise voltage is different and cannot be installed. (Dont try again cause you may damage both card and motherboard).
If the fitting on both cards is the same then your new card maybe damaged or incompatible.

On your MSI K9VGM-V, you do have a PCI-Express x16 slot, which is used for most video cards now days. You can see the full slot diagram on the picture below.

How to install Geforce 8800 GTX video card to my computer.

Hello ,
Just fix the card in the pci slot given in the motherboard , and then connect the monitor to that card. Then after getting into the windows use the driver cd to install the given driver fot the card and restart your system. To find the pci slot : It must be nearly from down the second or the first one.

No vedio

If a wire touched the side of the video card and there was a spark then that wire shorted something out. The video card is likely bad now and it is also possible that there was damage to the motherboard. If the motherboard still work then a working PCI video card or AGP video card would work. If there is damage to the motherboard from the short then it is possible that the PCI slots as well as the AGP slot will not work but there is no way to tell if that is the case without testing the electronics on the motherboard or plugging in a working video card to see if it works.

AGP card support

Hi, Unfortunately no AGP slot nor PCI-E. The Gigabyte GA-8I845GV motherboard has only 3 Expansion Slots and all of the are PCI (33MHz & PCI 2.2 compliantt). From their website, here's an image of the motherboard It has a built-in Intel® Extreme Graphics Engine (845GV chipset) for video with max of 128 mb shared memory. Should you wish to install an add-on 3rd party PCI video card, Inno3D FX5500 256ddr PCI slot tv-dvi are still available (at least in my location) for an equivalent of about 3.5K INR (80USD+). Hope this gives you an idea. Good luck and kind regards.
