I am getting a series of five flashes, a pause, then three more. That's ALL I'm getting from the machine. Any guesses what this code is saying?

Toshiba tecra p5 up on black Screen on PCI EXPRESS ERROR can't boot????

If you can't boot to the bios, you are in major trouble. You can try and see if the manufacturer has a bios flash program you can load on a Flash drive to flash the bios...you will have to research that on another computer, obviously.

My toshiba tecra8000 laptop displays toshiba logo for 1 second and then it displays password.Bios batteries have been removed.code no of flash eprom on mother board is unknown tome.If I get the code no of...

The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration. But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device.
TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE
You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector
http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle

Wire the pins as follows :-1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15
Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

Umm, this is a common misconception laptops DO NOT flash fault codes via the LEDs sorry. These "Flashes" mean absolutely nothing... they are random. us engineers do NOT use any laptop flashing led codes at all.

Toshiba Tecra S1. My laptop has power but will

It has a memory problem, take the laptop to your local store and ask if they will test the memory for you, if it is the problem then you will have to purchase a new memoy module.

TECRA 9100 LED FLASHING 01001110

What a work..... sry --
Find another Tecra 9100 and use that machine for spare parts.
They are very cheap today, 100 euro max second hand, perhaps without HD.
Its the system-board, a chip there.

My TOSHIBA laptop won't turn on

flashing three times means something physically wrong with ur laptop. could be fault with ur power supply, Hard drive or ram.
- with the battery, plug in ur power supply and check if ur LED is glowing and the laptop is charging well.
if the problem persists,
- reset the RAM and the Hard drive, [ for this take out the ram and Hard drive and put them back again].
if still the problem persists, take it to repair. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- u dont have to worry bout the backup in ur laptop. a simple solution would be to get a 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure, install ur harddrive into that, connect it to a different computer and back it up!, but be sure what type of Harddrive u have , is it a IDE harddrive or a SATA harddrive.
cheers suraj

No startup

Majority of beep codes mean there's something wrong with the memory modules or a bad motherboard.

Try taking your RAM mods out and snapping them in. If you have 2, try using one at a time. Then you'll know which one is bad.

Here's a doc on how to do that:

Tecra M2 screen failure

Bad RAM probably bad system board. You say there are flashes usually you can check any available beep or flash codes. Sometimes they will tell you what has malfunctioned. Check the mfg. website or manual for diagnostic codes. As for the external monitor you will have to press function F4 or F8 or whatever function key you have with a monitor picture to switch to the external display. Hack
