While its nice to know how to fix it yourself its still dangerious.
Theres high voltage going in there.

I would really recommend takeing the tv to a local professional
you can also find a repair service from www.fixya.com right under the top experts just put your zip code there if your in the us.

Basicly as the guys sayd most likely the powerconverter board or something else has burned.

Not an easy task to perform yourself in most cases and on top of that its dangerious.

so if you need more assisstance let me know.
Im trying to reach the Guru rank, so if you could give me a fixya that would be great thanks.

Hi,

You can bu the parts from HERE or from HERE
If you need any schematics you can get it from HERE

FEW TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS YOU CAN TRY:

ONE: Check the line cord. Wiggle both ends near the molded part.
TWO: Make sure you have power in the outlet by plugging a lamp into the same exact outlet.
THREE: Do a hard reset; merely unplug the line cord but leave it unplugged for 4 hours before powering up again.

The whacking test is to just bang or smack the set with your hand on the back, side, top, etc., to see if there are loose connections or cold solder joints inside that are acting up. If so, the banging should knock them back to normal and the set should restore. You might have to use some creative banging and some have had to put a book or magazine under one corner to torque the chassis enough to get it to work reliably.

If this does not solve your problem then the only solution to fix your the problem is to get it repaired by a technician

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

I think this is due to the capacitors that are going bad in your sircuit board.
it may be even resistors.

because your protection circuit is not working.

protection circuit is the one that is responsible for protecting the CKT against all kinds of high and low voltages.

first of all your TVs power section is faulty.
and so when ever there is a power imbalance it is not able to make itself. stable.

now what you got to do is.

replace the power section with all new better components.

then use a stabilizer to switch on your TV.
    don't use the power directly.

this wil help you a lot.

    thank you

  • dewan nafees ahmed Apr 03, 2008

the capacitor in the power board. or the power board if the whole power board is burt out,

because if the capacitors wont work--ur filter ckt also wont work. --if filter is not working then you are prone to high and low voltages.

you can find them at repairclinic or at applinace andother site from net.

WARNING: if you are really handy in electronics then only u can try replacing by yourself at your own risk.

    thank you

    good luck

That is a short, if you are lucky you just replace the wires and that is all. Leave the tv unplugged for a while before servicing it, there is always risk of electrostatic charges.

7P5430W101 it is a philips remote control serial, not a tv. I suggest not to service your tv if you do not have sufficient experience. If you found a black film on wires, then it is a short it caused plastic to melt, as said. Nothing to do with pcb board, unless it has been damaged as a consequence of short, or the burnt lid was on this board. Cables and components will need to be tested for continuity with multimeter before being replaced.
If you already identify the area in which the short happened, and it is a short between cables the only use you have for service manual is for haow to open your tv. In any case, if you post the tv number we can check for an online service manual or schematics/diagrams.

    Regards
I know it can be an easy fix, but my suggestion is to call a repairman.

Does this unit have a projection bulb in the back end of the set? Just based on my experience with a friend's 65 inch rear projection TV, there might be an indicator light on the front panel that may blink if the rear projection bulb is failing. If there is a failing bulb it could account for the screen going black with everything else just fine, after the bulb gets heated up in 15 minutes.

Some kind of a problem likely in the magic focus area--is the set showing a error on screen if you engage the magic focus?

One thing not to do is disconnect the sensors inside the screen as that could make things worse......

My friend had the same problem. There is some display bulb that is on its way out. They aren't cheap. Find a 2nd hand TV parts/repair shop, They usually have cheap used ones from discarded units, and will know what you need!

Turned off receiver in a storm now it won't turn back on

Hi,

if it does not power up, then it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

Yours sincerely.

always first unplug set and let sit 10 to 20 minutes to reset micro prossessor. if that don't help then you need to have an electronic technition determine if your problem is caused by high voltage devider or low voltage power supply. J.D.W.

Panasonic Flat Screen TV turns off by itself

If your unit was blowing fuses you must have had an overload somewhere. Your post is not clear. Does your unit run ten minutes after unplugging and replugging it? If it does then there is still a partial short in it somewhere which causes it to shut down for protection. It could be anywhere. Some detail on what happened prior to the fuse blowing would be helpful for diagnosis. You do not sound like you would have the expertise to troubleshoot this unit. I doubt there could be much wrong with it and the cost should be minimal. Find a reputable repair shop to handle the repair. Good luck.
