I have a '06 Dodge Ram with the factory Infinity sound system. Since installing my new head unit about 1 out of 3 times that I get into my truck and start it, there is no sound coming from the truck speakers. I do have a sub in the rear that sound does come from, but none of the door or dash speakers have any sound. I can turn the unit off and then back on, but still no sound. The only way I can fix it is to turn the key off and back on. This is getting old. Any help on fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The Infinity system includes a CD/cassette receiver or a CD receiver in the dash, and a complement of 7 speakers: 3-1/2" speakers in the dash (left, right), a 2-1/2" center dash speaker, two 6"x9" woofers in the front doors, and two 5-1/4" speakers in the rear doors. You'll have to remove a section of the dash to install a new stereo, as you do with the non-Infinity system. You'll need a special adapter to connect a new car stereo to the Infinity factory amp http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120CHTO02/Axxess-CHTO-02-Factory-Integration-Adapter.html?tp=3486
There is two ways you can do this you can find the turn on wire for the amp and hook it up to the amp turn on wire from the radio (this is the bootleg way and sound might cutout when you turn the radio up)
The best way to go is to go to best buy or your local sound shop and get a bypass harness for a dodge infinity system(go this way so you won't have rny problems)
With the Infinity system you need to power up the factory amplifiers. This is done with the blue with a white stripe wire from the deck to the amp turn on lead from the factory harness. Not sure the color of the wire but that's most certainly your problem. If you have a factory to aftermarket wiring adapter it'll be the blue wire.
Id call you local stereo shop. I changed the head unit out in my old acura legend and had the same problem. You need to buy a special harness for the bose. Each speaker had its own amp, so i just rip it off and wired the speaker direct and trashed the amps. Now this was an older car and speakers were almost shot so no biggie. I would not recommend you doing that on and 04. Just call your local stereo shop and they should hook you up.
hi rob there is no way u can pair ur keenwood to your phone. your still going to need a microphone so that your callers can hear you. i installed the same unit in my durango a year ago and had the same problem. the only thing to do is keep using the earpiece.
Call these guys at hifiaudio.com and purchase the SWC module that matches your vehicle (ask for Scroche brand). Once you purchase the SWC module, make sure you read the installation instructions two or three times before you install it. Once installed, these SWC units work great. I just completed the installation on my 2008 F150 with the Kenwood DNX-7100 and my steering wheel interface works perfectly.
The problem I had was with the remote control unit for the steering wheel controls. It shorted out. The head unit was fine. But, when the sterring control unit is shorted it also prevents the hand held remote from working.
