Intel D845GBV Motherboard Problem

Thank you for the solution , One more doubt -
What is the difference between - pc1600/pc2100/pc2700.

Which one is better for the Intel D845GBV Motherboard ?

Should I need to use only PC2100 or can I use PC2700 ?

And what will happen If I install 2 RAMS in 2 slots of my mother board such that in one slot 2GB and another 256MB so totally 2GB 256MB RAM ?

Will it read only 2GB or 2GB 256MB completely ?

I want to upgrade my RAM in my machine currently I Have 256 MB RAM.
Can you please suggest me which RAM to use and cost range of the particular RAM ?

The difference between - pc1600/pc2100/pc2700.only the model and speed.

it depends of the compatibility of your Motherboard/ in your manual, there is a list of all diff. kind of memory for your motherboard, and the limits of ram.alway remember when you put a ram ,it should have ,always the same value and same speed.

PC1600 runs at 200MHZ and PC2100 runs at 266MHZ..

Since your motherboard only supports a max of 266MHZ, I would recommend that. (not to mention that PC1600 is pretty much obsolete)..

2nd, you motherboard supports a MAX of 2GB Total ram.. So, you could install 1GB + 256MB.. But why not go for 2xGB?

The price for a 1GB stick of PC2100 is around $75-125 CAN. Not soo cheap anymore...

** Your system cannot use PC2700 as it runs at 333MHZ.

How to know that the ram can match with your motherboard?

This motherboard supports DDR200/266/333 SDRAM
The memory needs to match one of these numbers so:
DDR200
DDR266
DDR333
one of these types will work
This motherboard will support a maximum of 4GB of memory.

What ram msi n1996 accept

Sounds like that's an HP board, not MSI. According to the spec sheet here, it accepts two sticks of PC2100/PC1600, up to 1GB total. Note that if you are going to have two sticks in your laptop at the same time, they must be either PC2100 or PC1600. You cannot mix and match with memory.

Does this motherboard support ddr400

Yes, this does support ddr400, there are two memotry sockets on the board they will hold 1 gig each you could try a 2gig stick in each but according to the spec on the board it only takes upto 2gigs of ram.

Can you expand the memory on a Systemax Intel SIS651 System

Your motherboard is actually a Foxconn 651M03.

According to your system you have :
512MB DDR333 PC2700 Non-ECC Memory (512MB x 1)
(One stick of 512MB)

The motherboard manual says this:
System Memory
Two 184-pin DDR DIMM slots
Supports PC1600/PC2100/PC2700 memory
Supports 64Mb/128Mb/256Mb/512Mb technology up to 2GB

(This means you can have a total of up to 2 Gigabytes of RAM)

If you upgrade your RAM, you will need to make sure that you get the correct type.

If you want to keep the RAM you have, you will only be able to have 1.5 GB of RAM because you only have two slots to work with. If you want to upgrade to the full 2 GB, you will need to buy 2, 1 GB sticks.

Memory 1 gb with pc 3200,can i use in p4se?

Dear blatz

The ASUS P4SE - motherboard Supports DDR SDRAM RAM.

The Supported RAM Speed is: PC2100, PC1600, PC2700

This means that the speed is at a maximum 333Mhz. The PC3200 is rated at 400Mhz but its ok. It is backward compatible with PC2700 or 333Mhz.

It will simply work but not at its maximum speed.

Critical after DDR333 upgrade

cadyshack,
I got your latest version (8.1) motherboard on my screen & ECS shows your board does not support PC2700, only PC2100.
Downloaded your manual to verify this.
Notice you started having problems after upgrading RAM.
Link to your manual:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=436&DetailName=Manual&MenuID=7&LanID=9

This motherboard accommodates two 184-pin DDR DIMM
sockets for up to 1GB memory. Supports PC2100/PC1600
unbuffered non-ECC DDR DIMMs.

KINDLY HELP

That board only supports ddr ram not the newer ddr2. It will run pc1600/pc2100/pc2700 up to 2 gigs. So make sure you have the right ram for it. Also what cpu are you using?.
