JVC Hd56fn97 56-inch 1080p Hdila Rear Projection Tv with all blue color green

Talk to JVC as I have suggested and this is likely a known problem: loss of any color, picture upside down etc requires a upgrade to correct and I have seen about twenty sets with their name like this with this kind of problem.

Our Samsung slim fit t.v. is displaying a completely RED picture. Any trouble shooting tips?

if the problem is always red picture every time you open your TV unit i may say that there is problem in your CRT chassis board or at chroma driver. open your unit then pull out the chassis board clean with lacquer thinner and then check possible loose contact re soldered parts at color amplifier section and parts at chroma board which is the driver of red, green, and blue gun. it is connected at the neck of picture tube. after you try all this option test your unit then observed if it is ok now. if still doesn't change red picture again check defective parts at chroma board pull out the driver transistor of green drive since the problem is reddish so there is no green drive check if it is leak or shorted also check open resistor. also you need to consider is the voltage of all the driver transistor are almost the same to have good picture.

Problem with JVC CRT TV (slim) with screen to have red color at the lower left (facing the TV) corner and a green color on the upper right corner of the screen. Sometimes while watching TV shows, the upper...

There is strong magnetic field around the TV. This may be due to the tower speakers or any portable radio kept close by.

Re orient the TV try switching OFF / ON at the intervals of 30 minutes. The built in auto de-gauser will correct the problem. In cable TV program if the picture is OK, nothing wrong in the TV.

Check with a different CD.

Hi if your tv is a Dlp or Lcd it will be a problem with the light engine.Basically there's 3 chips green, blue, red that create the image and colors. When they start to go bad or melt you will get color discoloration on corners on the center. You will need to replace the optical block ,you can find it on www.discount-merchant.com www.shopjimmy.com or ebay .Have a blessed day!

Philips 23PF9966/37 color problem!

Most likely you can adjust it in the Service Alignment Mode (SAM).

Press 062596 followed by the STATUS button (upper left). Navigate to "White Tone", press the right key to enter and select "Normal" mode. Set the colors:

Red = 135, Green = 128, Blue = 133.

The "Cool" and "Warm" menus are deltas from the "Normal" settings:

COOL: R -3, G -1, B 5
WARM: R 2, G -3, B -13

Press the "MENU" button to return to the main menu, then the "Power" button to turn the TV off.

Bowed flickering green screen, black on bottom

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

Green is not being displayed on my TV

If you have experience troubleshooting solid state TV sets, you should be able to tell by a couple of voltage measurements if its a problem with the picture tube or the drive circuit. Simply take the multimeter and compare the base voltage of the green drive to the red or blue drive transistor. If the voltage is about the same, measure the collector of all three. if the green voltage on the collector is higher then the others, then theres an open between the drive transistor and the crt element. this could be an open resistor, a bad solder connection on the crt socket, or an open picture tube element. If theres no voltage there then your going to have to trouble shoot the drive circuit.
