Well first of all if you just copy pictures and music to ther oot of the memory card it wont play them. you need to make certain folders to put them in. the easiest way to do that is to format the memory card from the psp itself.
Also ther are no codes you will probably ever need to enter. the only code related to psp is and error code that shows there is some error. thease do nothing.

Hook up your psp to your computer with the usb. When the memory card's folder comes up right click in the folder. Then press new: folder and name it pictures. then do the same thing and name the second folder music.

Hello Larry,
How are you? Here's the exact answer to your problem:
Basically, your problem lies in the fact that you do not have folder called PSP at the root of your memory card. Also, that folder needs to contain a MUSIC folder.
Only when you have done all these things will you be able to see your music on your psp. If it doesn't work, refer to the procedure I gave you up there:
Hope this helped!

Hi Oligan10,
Attached below are 10 easy steps to get you started in playing your favorite music using your PSP.
step 1 Take a USB 2.0 cable and connect the PSP to your computer step 2 Press the home button on the PSP step 3 Use the left and right buttons to find Settings ( select by pressing the X button ) step 4 Select USB Connection -Your computer will notify you that a new USB device has been connected This should show up as a new hard drive with a corresponding letter identifier step 5 On your computer, select the correct drive letter and open PSP file system step 6 Create a new folder and call it PSP step 7 Go inside this new PSP folder and create another folder. Name it MUSIC step 8 On your computer hard drive, Select the MP3 music files that you want to transfer and save it into the MUSIC folder that you have just created step 9 Disconnect the PSP from your computer by pressing the O button step 10 Unplug the USB cable.
To View and Play the downloaded music on your PSP :
- Use the left and right buttons and select MUSIC - Select Memory Stick by pressing the X button You should see all the music files you have just transfered to the PSP.
I have attached a link to the PSP Manual, should you need more information about your PSP.
All the best to you my fellow PSP enthusiast.

8gb memory card corrupted.

If its cost a lot, it should have warranty. Go and ask for a replace. 7.63 GB is ok for a 8 GB card. cz, file system itself takes some space.

But i dont think the card is still good.

Downloading music from computer

easy. plug in the USB cable into your PSP and the other (big) end into your computer. on the PSP home menu, go all the way to the right and select USB mode. YOU NEED A MEMORY CARD INSERTED. click open and explore files if somthing pops up on your computer. if not, go to my computer, then memory stick K (or what ever letter your compute shows). then if its not already there, make a new folder and call it MUSIC

then drag and drop / copy and paste your songs into that folder.
