Hello. I have just replaced the bulb and reset the lamp timer. The projector starts up fine and then after about 5 minutes, the lamp turns off and the Power and Lamp indicator lights turn red. I have double-checked the lamp timer and it is at 0. Is there anything else I should be checking before sending it out for service?

After switching on, on the main unit press reset button and left button at same time. After a few seconds text at the very bottom of the display will show something like LAMP (1751). then release and select the same two buttons again, and then again (I think) and the LAMP (0) should appear and it is reset. if this sounds a little vague its because this is what I remember doing as I was trying different things out on my cp-x960. Yes to replace the lamp you need to remove the 2 screws. You can touch the lamp but I try not to. After the lamp is in you need to reset the hr timer for the lamp. to do this you need to look in manual on page 34.
If you do not have the manual you can get it here at link below.
Turn on the projector, and reset the lamp timer.
(1) While the projector running, press the MENU button to open the menu.
(2) Choose the “OPTION” on the menu using the / button, then press the
button or ENTER button.
(3) Choose the “LAMP TIME” using the / button, then press and hold the
RESET button for 3 seconds.
(4) Choose the “RESET” using the button.

If you do not have a remote here is how to reset the filter time. Use the "Menu" bottun to get the "easy menu" to display. Push the down arrow until you get to "Filter Time," then push and hold the RIGHT arrow to reset the filter time. DO NOT try to reset using the "Reset" option on the easy menu, it will not work.
What you want to do is go to the advanced menu, find the filter time and using the remote hold down reset button for 3 seconds or so while the filter time is selected. This will bring up a reset menu and reset the timer.
Turn On. Press RESET switch for 3 or more seconds until a lamp and 2000 message appears in the middle of the bottom of the screen. Press RESET again and this message will expand to include cant remember then press arrows left arrow and the 2000 will reset to 0. If the first press does not immediately provide a message press it for longer and expect to see message on release. As mentioned you have to be quick otherwise the menu dissapears. If this happens just do it again until you get it completed. Thanks to the previous reply. This works it has just been done on a CPX960 without bulb replacement. SO Dont replace the fuckin thing till it needs to be replaced.
