How to Erase a Burned CD

CD-RW stands for CD re-writeable. This type of disc can be written on or "burned" multiple times. However, in order to burn music or data onto a CD-RW that already has something on it, you must first erase the current contents of the disc. No special software is needed to do this, as you can do it with the Windows Media Player program, which already comes installed on all computers with the Windows operating system. Regular CD-R discs cannot be erased or reused--the discs must be labeled as CD-RW.

Instructions
Step 1.
Click on the "Start" menu button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Select "Windows Media Player" from the pop-up menu.
Step 2.
Select the "Library" tab in the main Windows Media Player screen.
Step 3.
Insert the CD-RW that you want to erase in the CD-ROM drive. Close the "AutoPlay" window if it appears.
Step 4.
Right-click the CD-ROM drive in the "Navigation" pane on the left side of Windows Media Player. Select "Erase disc" from the drop-down menu. This will automatically erase the contents of the disc.

Sound in only one speaker

With a music CD playing, and the volume on the SA-404 set to a lower (but audible) level, try the following steps while closely listening for music from the speaker that is not functioning (some crackling or screeching sounds may be heard when removing and reconnecting the cables).

Remove & reconnect the traditional RCA type audio cables that originate from the CD player at the connection point at the rear of the SA-404 several times. If the cables can be removed from the CD player, do it to that end too if no music is heard. If the audio cable is a single coaxial dolby digital type carefully do the same thing to it - at both ends if needed, too. The optical cables usually don't fail the way you describe so if they're being used it may be a problem with the CD player.

You might also try moving the RCA type cables to a different input (try TAPE or another available input) if the previous steps don't solve the problem. If the problem is present on the new input (TAPE or another available input), the issue lies with the cables or the CD player. Try connecting with NEW cables to the CD input. If still failing - try TAPE input again. If still not working, I would feel comfortable saying the CD player has some sort of problem.

Hi,

On the right hand side of your laptop tehre shoudl be a thin compartment with a little square button. On teh right side of teh button tehre shoudl eb alable stating "lightscribe".
(This video shows the location of your CD-ROM, skip to mintue=1 seconds= 40 to 50).

With you PC "on", if you press the square button near the "lightscribe" logo, the CD-ROM compartment will pop open.

Open the door completly.

Here you can inster your CD.

Make sure you put the CD with it's lable facing "up".

Close the CD-ROM door complelty and the PC should start reading the CD.

Cheers,

Please insert a disk into drive

You can only copy files to a blank disk by using programs like NERO or by using a re-writeable disk like DVD-RW which you can format and use it like a hard drive. You need also burner not an ordinary DVD or CD player.

Is the 2400 Toast ???

Two main reasons why this things happen, first.. there's an error with your hardware. If you know how to diasassemble your pc, then do it. Cleaning your machine will make it work. If it doesn't, repair the operating system with your windows installer cd. Be sure to clean your cd rom or you might as well borrow or buy a new cd rom so that the installation will run smoothly

COMPACT DISC,RECORDABLE DOOR KEEP POP UP BY ITS SELF.PLS HELP ME TO CLOSED IT SO THE DOOR DOESN'T POP UP BY ITSELF

you may need to replace your cd-rom drive, you can try buying a new cd-rom drive for around 30-40$ which also will mean you'll have a DVD-rom instead of cd-rom.

thanks
