Just installed mobo ms-7091 m atx but find it as no video out ports how do i get a picture.i know its old but its my first attempt at building pc can i just install a graphics card.

I found the user manual here :
http://217.110.237.70/Manuals/Medion%208383XL%20mit%20MS-7091.pdf
Your motherboard provides 1 pci-express x16 slot, so you will need to install a pci-express video card.
Try to get a video card that doesn't need to be powered by the power supply. There are some out there that don't need to be powered, but .....
Most, but not all, pci-e video cards need to be plugged into your main computer power supply to work. If your power supply was designed to power a pci-e video card, it will have a 6 pin pci-e power connector to connect to a pci-e video card. If your power supply doesn't have this connector, you should replace the power supply with one with the pci-e power connector.

Optiplex 520 pci video cards Dual monitors & Vista

There is a work-around for Vista. Look here.

A little bit down you can read:
"A user could force the installation of a XPDM driver for each of these devices, and therefore get heterogeneous multi-adapter multi-monitor to work as in Windows XP."

If you can go that way depends mainly on the manufacturer of the video card driver.

If you are going to sell all your nice 22" monitors - let me know...;-)

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

I have a Gateway DX4710-05 with Windows Vista 64-bit and I'm trying to install a PCI HDTV TV Tuner. Everything seems to install ok, but I can't get it to scan for channels. The pci card is from Sabrent. I...

First you need to find out exact model of your TV Tuner. If it is installed it should be in
Start\Control Panel\System\Device Manager\Sound, video and game controllers.
To check installation you can double click it and in tab "General" you will see "This device is working properly" or not.

Knowing the board part number you can check out Sabrent web site for drivers: http://www.sabrent.com/#itemName=&itemID=0&section=Drivers and see if they have a newer one - if yes, then give it a try.

I had the invalid floating point error..this only happened after I installed vista service pack 1 on my vista x64 machine. After much hunting around I used the following tuner software which seems to have resolved the problem (still using the v1.3.3 driver).

software:

I am using the chrisTV lite version which is free and seems to have got rid of the problem. I hope that helps.

I bought apci tv capture card and the manual version says 2.0 and the driver and software disc says v5.3 and whe i try to open the enltv says that the set up is incorrect

A lesson

You mean you purchased a PCI TV Capture card , not "apci" tv capture card.

Good for you ! , Television Sets are a thing of the past and it's time we moved on.

and your manual says your PCI TV capture card is version 2.0
and that your Installation CD states that it's version 5.0

1. the driver CD version of the drivers on it can be 5.0 this has nothing to do with your PCI TV capture card being 2.0 , they are totaly sepreate things.

2. when you attempt to launch the enltv program you receive the error message

"set up is incorrect"

Your PCI TV Tuner Capture Card is made by Encore.

Well your in luck !

There is excellent support for it here.

http://www.encore-usa.com/product_item.php?region=us&bid=2&pgid=17&pid=46

But I see a weakness , and a delema

The weakness is that the site may not provide you with what you really need.

and the delema is to decide what you want to do about that !

If you already have a driver loaded , and you can see that everything is ok in the device manager
meaning no yellow exclamation marks on your PCI TV Tuner device then please proceed with these steps

Since Most PCI tuner cards have less than sufficent support and may not work in all circumstance
due to OS incompatabilites. we sometimes have to take matters into our own hands.

1. Install the PCI TV Tuner into the second PCI slot and try to assign it IRQ 9
2. Load the driver if you have no IRQ conflict
3. Load a program called "MediaPortal" a third party freeware open source program designed to give you back the ability to watch your PCI tuner capture card in the event that it's Television software has failed.

Do not load media portal unless you are confident that your PCI TV Tuner Card DRIVER Installed correctly.

Do no load MediaPortal unless you have no other choice.

4. If at this point you have decided to give MediaPortal a try then download it and install it.

DO NOT install MediaPortal at this stage unless you have downloaded ALL the microsoft critical updates and service packs.

Please understand that your computer may be horribly outdated and needs all it's critical updates and service packs , and maybe even updated directx before MediaPortal can run properly

The default password for SA
is "MediaPortal" and that IS case sensitive

Thank you for using FixYa!

No sound in Vista Media Centre

Hi Nickluck
Depending on the OS and Drivers, DirectX version I presume 9c, check your AverMedia TV card, in other slot PCI, and reinstall drivers, if required. Should work.
but, drivers, too for the Video Card, if Nvidia? download the latest.
Good Luck
