Question about Canon BubbleJet i560 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I have a Canon i560 inkjet printer. I have replaced the color cartridges with remanufactured cartridges purchased on line. At first the magenta color would not print but the others did. I tried the standard cleaning procedures several times, including a deep cleaning several times. After the cleaning, the nozzle worked , but the next day the problem came back. I bought a new genuine Canon cartridge and that seems to have fixed the magenta after performing a regular cleaning procedure. Now the yellow cartridge has stopped, I repeated the cleaning process again and now it temporarily works. After sitting idle tonight it will probably not work tomorrow. Does this indicated that the replacement compatible ink is not good? How can I clean the print heads to unclog them using a procedure other than the normal processes? I have read recommendations on some sites to dab warm clean water or 91% isopropyl alcohol, but I do not want to damage the head. Is this a good idea? How do I get the print head out of the carriage if I have to?

Never use compatible cartridges or ink. The heads clog and render the machine useless.

SOURCE: Color ink cartridge does not print in full colors

Canon printers do not like the refilled ink cartridges. After having ruined a few printers trying to "save" money. I went back to genuine Canon ink and have never had a problem since.

SOURCE: printer does not print magenta and cyan. Change

The print head is clogged.Try unclogging manually.Open the cover and first remove the ink cartridges. Then open the holder and remove the print head.Run hot tap water and put the print head with the nozzles up to stream water.Hold that 5 mins then turn the print head around
with the nozzles down.Hold that for every color of 5 mins. Then put the print head in hot water with the nozzles down.Left it water about 15 mins and then you must very nice to dry. When the print head dry put it in printer and start cleaning. If this not help you need to replace the print head. It's part number is QY6-0049.

Refurbished Magenta cartridge, others okay, receiving 10.0002 supply error. Can I fix this without going to the much more expensive HP toner cartridges?

The error is caused by the small micro chip on the magenta toner cartridge. You may be able to purchase a chip from a toner cartridge remanufacturer but I would return the cartridge to where you bought it and tell them it is faulty and have it replaced.
Otherwise purchase another toner cartridge.

I am still finding that the colors are wrong. I did the cleaning operation suggested by your expert, it seemed a little better but I still see a problem. If I run the nozzle check print page, I find that...

Did you by chance put in aftermarket ink cartridges? If so, then they may well be leaking with sitting over time. These are often "remanufactured" cartridges where they have simply been refilled with ink or the seals are not as good. You might try a new set of factory cartridges and see if that fixes they problem. I know this is a fairly expensive proposition, but so is replacing your printer, if it is out of warranty. If it is in warranty and you a using factory cartridges, then you might check the Canon website for a factory service center near you.

What is the order for color cartridges? I cannot get the color correct

Left to right - BLACK, CYAN, MAGENTA, YELLOW.

This is the order shown on the label on the front of the print head assembly.

Color

Recheck the placement of the ink cartridges. The black ink cartridge is larger; the cyan, magenta, yellow cartridges are all the same size.

When the ink cartridges were replaced, two or more may have been inadvertently switched or an extra yellow cartridge placed in.

Green hue to photos

Canon, in its infinite wisdom, markets two sets of inks with the "part" number 3e. One of these, labeled simply with the color, is suitable for the i560 printer. The newer inks, labeled as "Photo" + the color, are not. Silly me. I just looked at the number and bought the wrong stuff.

Canon i560s prints all colors except black

I had a similar problem and found out that you have to specify printing on plain paper. If you choose paper other than plain paper, it will make the black from other colors. Check also that all of your cartridges are seated properly. My magenta was not pushed all the way down so I got green instead of black ink when it mixed the colors to make black.

Ink Cartridge Settings

Have you tried Canons FAQ? They suggest checking the grayscale box, which apparently only works with certain kinds of printing (duplexing and borderless will still use colors). I don't understand how colored inks are used to create black, but that's what they claim.
