You obviously have access to a working pc. Does your laptop have a floppy drive? If it does, is it by any chance the primary boot option? Gimme something here. I'm not done yet. I have more ? Sorry. I need to check other posts but when you hit F8 real quick several times were you able to get that list? I thought you were. Does it have the repair option listed? And make SURE please just keep adding comments to this post. There's open problems all over for this one. Just add a comment with your answers don't post a problem. Thanks.

How can i go in boot option

Normally when you power on your Toshiba Satellite laptop it attempts to boot the operating system installed on its hard drive.
In some instances you may want to boot the Satellite laptop from a different device, such as an operating system installation CD or a USB drive.
The boot order doesn't have to permanently be set to the hard drive.
It's possible to access the boot order before the operating system loads and change which device is set to boot first.

Turn off the Toshiba Satellite laptop.
Turn it back on immediately and wait for the "press the F2 key to enter Setup" entry to show up on the screen.
Press the "F2" key to access the Toshiba Satellite's BIOS menu.
Use the right arrow key to navigate to the BIOS tab labeled "Boot."

Scroll down to the option labeled "Boot Priority" and tap Enter.
Check through the list of devices and locate the specific device you want to use to Boot your Toshiba laptop, such as "CD-ROM," "USB" or "LAN."

Highlight the name of the device in the list and then tap Enter to make it the top boot priority.
Use the right arrow key again to scroll over to the "Exit" BIOS menu.

Tap the down arrow key to highlight the "Save and Exit" option.
Press Enter to save the new boot order and restart your Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Repeat the procedure when you want to change the boot order back to its original setting.

OR Control Panel, Sound, depending on your OS, You will find a box to show tray icon. If it is checked, uncheck, apply, then check, apply. Just highlight your unit product name on the list and press the red "GO" button.

It should look like this:

I have toshiba satellite pro a120 laptop and need to speed it up please help

A few things to do first, assuming a Microsoft operating system:
1 - Look at your hard drive to make sure it's got enough space (free space should be at least 15% of it's total size). If not delete or move some stuff.
2 - On the icon for your hard drive - probably "C:", right click and select bottom choice "Properties." Under Tools tab, select defragment and run this utility, even if it says it is not needed.
3 - Pull up the Start Menu (Windows Key), Select "All Programs" and go to the folder named "Startup." Many programs like to have some code run all the time, which is almost never necessary. You will be safe to delete entries here - as they just take up memory once started.

These steps should be a help, none are a danger to your stuff.
Additional RAM is always a good help for small $$ as well.

Good Luck!

Hard drive

have you made any changes to your bios? usually when i see this come up the bios has been changed or the hard drive has gone bad. you can try unscrewing the panel on the bottom of your toshiba that has a cylinder looking symbol next to it to check the hard drive. but most of the time like i said, this happens is because the hard drive is not being recognized/checking in during P.O.S.T. which usually means bad hard drive

Good Luck!

Toshiba Satellite P200 doesn't boot

Try pressing FN/F5 keys simultaneously, or the key that toggles internal/external Display. Look for the double screen Icons on the keys.

Tap the Pause Key.

Restart and press and hold F8 key when Toshiba logo appears. When the boot Menu appears, select Last Known Good Configuration.

If all else fails ther should be a reset button on the side of the LT. Consult owners Manual for location
