The power supply is located on the top of your compter tower. You should have a large power cord plugged in to it from the wall. When you open the computer case, it will be at the top and have a bunch of wires running out of it and running to the different drives and motheroard. Removing the power supply is easy. Just remove the wires from the drives and boards and remove the 4 screws to the case and out it comes. I have 450W ATA power supply on my machine and it runs a dual-core and 2 DVD and 250 gb hard drives with out any problems. Most computer stores sell power supplies and offer install if you need it. I live in Canada and I find most power supplies run about $85.00 Remeber more power = more money. You can change the powere supply in about 30 mins and don't rush. Remeber to ground yourself to the computer case and unplug the tower before openning it.

I am upgrading to a newer mb and need to know how big a power supply i need the mb is a epox 8k9a71

Hello, I would recommend probably at least a 400 watt power supply or greater. You could probably get by with something smaller like a 350 watt but depending on how many accessories (harddrives/cdromdrives/etc) you are planning on hooking up bigger is better. If this helps please rate. Thanks.

How do you remove the outer case on Viewsonic VG930M-3 LCD

kauffman014, As far as opening the monitor up you may want to visit YOUTUBE and search for lcd monitor repair/ disassembling monitor/ or something like that. I did see a 9-11 min video there that was fairly good on un-snapping the rear cover from the front bezel of what I think was a DELL unit. Also visit electronicrepairguide.com run by a jestine yong. don't pay any attention to his ad to purchase repair course in lcd/fpd servicing!! only look at the pic's of the insides of lcd monitors and the power supply boards/inverter boards. On gateway's, and dell monitors the pedestal must be unscrewed from the rear cover first. The pedestal is really screwed down to the steel FPD chassis that covers the circuit boards and provides a ridgid mounting surface for the unit as a whole. Work on a flat surface with screen facing down on a blanket or lots of newspaper to prevent maring of the FPD!
There should be some phillips screws that fasten the steel shield to the left/right sides of the FPD frame. Once you get down to looking at the Switch-Mode-Power-Supply (smps) board look for large filter capacitors (electrolytic polarized aluminum can) that have the tops of them bulging upward as compared to normal ones that are flat. You will also need to inspect the bottom (solder side) of the board where all the leads of the components from the top side are soldered. You are looking for very thin hairline 'thermal' and or 'vibration' circular FRACTURES around the leads of the larger and bulkier (heavy) components. Yeah...use a big magnifying glass or better yet a 10x or 20x inspection microscope. One last thing, I highly recomend taking digital pic's as you disassemble the unit so it can be put together again without leftover parts. hope this info helps you out. Get back to me if you find out anything. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aol.com BYE for now.

If these are original hard drives, they are probably corrupt or have gone bad.

You can order a replacement (upgrade) drive or just software and make your own from:

PS2 bad power supply

Greetings Xwrongwayx,

My suggestion is if it will plug into the newer unit, then it is fine to utilize the older power supply. I have two different PS2 units, and we use the cords for either to plug the units in.

I hope this helps!

Hey there jolen 323. The issue may be related to your power supply failing, however that would be a pain to replace, so lets consider that video idea. If iyou have a video card, remove it and connect your monitor to the onboard video. If this is effective, replace your video card. Next check your motherboard capacitor to ensure you have not popped any. Normally they are flat on top. When they begin to peak or somtimes burst, there is your problem and may also be related to power supply issues, or poor memory configuration. Also ensure your ram is in good condition and the proper type for your board. If using more than 1 stick, try removing the one furthest from the CPU, and give a test start. the only thing left is to replace Power supply if you are confident in the board. Good Luck!
