Question about Foxconn WinFast K7S741MG Motherboard for AMD Socket 462 CPU (K7S741MB6L)

1 Answer

No Video Output

I have installed a new mother board, k7s741mg, and I have no video out put. I am using the video board built in to the mother board. I have installed new memory sticks.(512 total) Everything seems to be booting. The hard drive starts, and cd is also running. Just no video to complete installing drivers from the cd. How do I get a "picture"?
What have I done wrong, or will the vga monitor work properly if this is set as agp? Help

Do you get any picture at all?

Can you press the F1 key or DELETE key and bring up the Setup menu? Can you see it?

If you can't see the above, it sounds like someone was not grounded to the computer case when they installed the new motherboard. Static electricy is the #1 killer to all electronics. If this is the case, you will have to buy an aftermarket video card and install it to see anything.

The VGA monitor will work with any video cards on the market.

If the motherboard said that it uses an AGP video card. That is the only one it will use. Make sure the card matches the motherboard or it will not work. All video cards are marked on the outside top of the box and your motherboard is maked by the AGP slot. Make sure you get the right speed format also. 8X will only work with a 8X.

I hope this helps and I will check back later to see how you made out.

The video output of my mother board micro star ms7211 is not good is only lines if i put a new video card i need to change a jumpers

Hi, you can download the vga driver here:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/PM8M3-V.html#/?div=Driver&os=XP%2032

Please select your windows version.
Select the vga driver and download it.
Unzip the file before installation.

There is no jumper settings for adding a video card.
It has an AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) 8x/4X slot.
You can also download a manual:

Adding a video card and get no output

Look in the motherboards manual for info about installing graphics cards, see if it needs jumpers. Plus make sure you plugged the monitors vga or dvi on the right place (VGA or DVI port ON the graphics card, NOT on the old vga port you used to plug your monitor before )

See if it works otherwise tell me..

Computer on, but no video output

sounds more like your motherboard,

unplug everything so all you have is ram (1 piece), cpu + harddrive(essential parts) no sound card, use on board graphics if you have it and if no luck then more likely the motherboard. Ihad a works machine go down before christmas with the same symptons and the problem was the motherboard

hope this helps

Sound quality

The sound quality built in to most mother boards is not the best quality. It is a compromise. The best solution is to install a high quality sound card in an available slot.

For video quality, it is the same issue when it comes to high quality video.

Before installing the new sound card, uninstall the existing sound drivers and sound software for the built in sound as necessary. You may have to go in to the BIOS set-up and dissable the mother board's built in sound. It is best to consult the instructions for *********** board to know the details for the particular mother board. You should contact the dealer for your computer to have proper details.

Turn off the computer, and disconnect the AC cord. Open the case, and install the new sound card according to the instructions that come with it.

When the computer re-starts, it should tell you that it found new hardware. Go through the installation procedure. There will be drivers and some software and drivers that must be installed.

If you are not used to this type of procedure, it would be best for you to take the computer to a computer service place and have them do the installation for you.

Video

If you plug in a pci video card, sometimes the bios, not Windows disables the card on board.
If the onboard video is not being disabled from bios, then you will be able to use either one or the other video cards, no need to disable it manually.
If your system takes both cards and you want to disable one, then go to system properies/hardware/device manager and disable the unwanted video card from device list by ticking disable on device profile.

No Video Output - New RAM - Tried Most Things

Without sounding silly. Have you tried replacing your new memory with your old memory? Just to see if your Pc boots normally. This will narrow down the root cause. This board only will only handel this type of memory.
