Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

Nintendo DS Lite Repair

I saw that you are able to repair a DS. My left shoulder button was loose and being touchy. It happened without any warning and remained that way for a while, so I took the case off and accidentally snapped the little piece that sticks out of the power button. Would you be able to repair it and how much would you charge for that?

The cost for repair is $58 which includes the power button part. If the shoulder button needs replacement or any other part there will be more parts charges. You will also be responcable for shipping on both sides.

Nintendo ds lite l button doesnt work

Does it click when you press it or does it seem to be out of position? If so, that's an easy fit.To fix this you'd have to open up the DS and re position the button and the pin holding it in place.

If not that, its probably got something to do with the trigger inside the DS. When you press the shoulder buttons, they push into a button just below them on the motherboard, which sends a message to the DS. If that has fallen off or started malfunctioning in any way, it could definitely be causing this. You'd have to order one online (link provided to an example) NINTENDO DS LITE BUTTON SWITCH REPAIR PARTS 4 NEW and then solder it in after desoldering the other one, if you know how to do that.

If not, there are probably some repair guys with an ad on your local Craigslist who'd be happy to do it for you for a quick buck.

My DS charges and turns on seemingly fine, however when turned on neither screen shows anything. The backlight remains off and nothing appears on screen. Can I fix this myself, do I need to order parts or...

Unfortunately the connector inside the DS is very fragile and has likely come loose. If you have any experience in tinkering or are happy to try to repair yourself all you need is a tri-wing nintendo screwdriver (2-3$ on ebay)

Then you simply remove the back whilst holding in the the shoulder buttons as there are two springs which will want to puch the shoulder buttons off (with the springs getting lost in the process)

Your then follow the ribbon wire to the connector on the mainboard and remove then reconnect.

now you can reassemble and test.

If this did not work there are a number of seller on ebay who would do the reapir for you from around $20 -$40 depending on whther the screen itself is broken or the connector on the mainboard is broken

Nintendo DS Sound Not Working

You might have a wire of some sort out of place as you suggested. I would not try to take of any part of the DS, because if you hit something wrong, or can't get it back together, them you may have to get a new DS. Did your daughter spill something on her DS, or drop it?

If you don't know what happened to the DS, then it may be the companies problem. if your daughter recently got the DS, then you can return it to the store, or send a direct complaint to the company. Even if she got it a long time ago, if it suddenly starts not working at full efficiancy, send it back to nintendo. If you still have the repicet, then send back to the store and tell them what happened.

Hope it helps~

DS LITE

Hi,

The described problem you have happens normally if you dropped the DS Lite. So thats why Nintendo states that it must have been dropped. It would be difficult to proof that it not has been dropped.
