Manual can be found here. Parts 1-3 must be downloaded before opening.
Directions from the manual for removing the keyboard:
Removing the Keyboard
• #1 Phillips screwdriver.
Unplug the AC adapter, if present, and remove the battery.
Remove the keyboard cover (page 2-12).
Remove the four M2.5×4.0 mm screws that secure the keyboard to the top case.
Lift up on the keyboard at the switchboard PCA end and then pull it toward the display assembly to release the tabs from the top case.
Turn the keyboard over and disconnect the motherboard cable.
Remove the keyboard.
Do not excessively bend or fold the keyboard cable. Excessive flexing can damage the keyboard cable connectors.
• Lay the keyboard face down on the top case, forward of its normal position, then reconnect the keyboard cable.
• Slide the metal tabs on the bottom of the keyboard into their slots in the top case, then lower the keyboard into place.

Simply plug the ac adapter into the wall, the laptop will charge the battery itself.
Keep in mind this... in general, a laptop runs at full speed when it is plugged into the wall. When most laptops are running on battery, things are running more at 50% capacity to save on power, this giving you more battery life. A dimmer lcd and slowing the processor down when not needed are common traits.
You can use the FN key (function key) and the corresponding dim control on the keyboard to adjust the brightnedd of the backlight. It should be marked on your keyboard in a different color, like blue or maybe green (not familiar with that models keyboard).
