Subwoofer Optimus I have a harman kardon avr 146 receiver. I would like to hook a subwoofer (optimus). The back of the subwoofer does not have a subwoofer component plug in. It has only the positive and negative wire connectors. How do I find a connector to hook up from subwoofer to preout component of the receiver? I was told a bsr plug in outer neg and inner pos.I have been looking. Radio Shack does not know. Please help! Thanks Elle Lynch

I am having same issue. Should I connect the Subwoofer red to FL red and FR red and the Subwoofer black to FL black and FR Black? What about the actual Subwoofer output? Should I connect anything to it?

Possible blown fuse inside unit, unplug and remove the top cover
fuse should be near the power board and transformer. replace with exact fuse, "Never remove covers with the unit plugged in" Always wait 4 or 5 minutes after unplugging to remove the cover.Replace cover before plugging unit back in.

How do you hook up a powered sub to Harman Kardon AVR 240 Receiver

On the rear, at the bottom left you have the Pre Out connectors - in there the Subwoofer is clearly labeled : use it.

My receiver doesn't have a dedicated subwoofer output, can I still hook up a subwoofer? I have a harmon kardon avr 25

That would depend mostly on your subwoofer. There are some that slave off the front left and right speaker outputs and still pass the amp's power to the Front Speakers. That would be the only way that would ensure volume control.

Otherwise you have to feed a self-powered sub from the Tape Outs but that won't allow volume control from the H-K.

How do i connect my subwoofer to my tv

Have you tried connecting an AV cable from yoursuboofer to your TV?
If so, what type of connection cable does your Woofer have?

Is your subwoofer apart of a surround sound system or is a separate unit?

I have Harman Kardon speakers and subwoofers connected to a Denon AVr 1508 receiver. All my five speakers are working but my subwoofer doesnt work. I m pretty sure I have connected the subwoofer properly...

There is a setting under your speaker setup to turn the subwoofer on. If speakers are set to small it auto matically sets the subwoofer to ON. If the speakers are set to large it turns the subwoofer off but you can manually adjust.
