Error flashing Hi My video camera has been working fine and i have easily been able to take the footage off the camera and save it onto my laptop. But today when i was transfering the footage onto the laptop it came up with an error and a yellow box with a lightening symbol in the centre flashing. I cannot use my camera with this flashing and It won't let me take the footage off the camera or film anything. What should i do? This is our school camera and i cannot find the manual or any cd to install any programs. Regards, Rose

We looked at your online manual and figued out that it was a formatting error. Then went through the steps to fix the problem. Camera working fine now.

You will require a firewire cable.
Usually a 4 pin to 6 pin cable. 4 pin to camera 6 pin to computer, assuming you PC has a fireiwre socket.
PC computer have Movie Maker as part of the OS.
Connect with the above cable and you should be good to go.

How do I upload video footage from my JVC Cybercam GR-DVL520 onto the computer?

I believe you are trying to download video footage from your camcorder onto your pc. ( and not the other way around- from pc to camcorder).
If thats the case plug in your USB cable supplied with the camcorder onto your PC and which will register as a new drive on your system. For some cameras you need a special video capture card which needs to be plugged into your PC to allow video to be downloaded. An example is the IEE- firewire series. You will also require a simple video capture software to capture and save the video footage as a workable PC file. Try reading up on the brochure which came with your camera which I believe will provide more details. Normally video cams will come with such software and the necessary cables. Recent camcorders come with a harddisk & it is much simpler to download as such systems are recognized by a PC as just another new drive on the system. Try out the above and I believe you will be able to do it. Bye

Upload footage off video camera to laptop

The simplest way to save the video to your laptop (note that you won't be able to view it from there) is to buy a cheap USB card-reader that handles SDHC cards - about US$10 - and simply pop the card out of the camera into the reader. You'll see the card and all files as a new drive. You can also play the video from the card in the card reader.

Videos won't convert properly to Windows Movie Maker and more.

try burning onto a dvd from adobe then manually uploading the footage from the dvd to the movie maker. Sometimes movie maker will not do auto if footage is out of focus....balance....or is too shakey.
