Very faint vertical bar moving across plasma screen.

OK... Left to Right is weird. I'd say one of two things.
Refresh Rate might be to low or to high, but i doubt this to be the cause. I'll put my money on external interferences. Something like another PC screen? TV? anything magnetic and I've even in some cases noticed PC side panels too close to a screen can cause this.

My plasma TV screen just suddenly turned dark

Try adjusting the contrast or brightness in the settings to make it brighter. A lot of TV's differ from who to do this so look in your tv's manual or go to the manufactuar's website and download the manual as a PDF.

I am trying to use my plasma tv as a screen to watch my movies from my computer. i have a acer plasma or lcd not sure. and i have a acer laptop.

First of all you will need an SVGA monitor cable (male-male) like this one on Amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/2M-SVGA-Monitor-Cable-MALE/dp/B000J1J790

Then plug it into your laptop and TV. On the Acer you may also have to press the fuction key and f4 or f5 (this changes which monitor displays the computers output)

Hope this was helpful
