Jenn- Air Model W256W

My wife was going to have the oven self clean and decided not to. Now there is "F8" in red letters in the display area and when we try to cancel it the fan goes on.

Cab you please help us to get it back to normal.

Thank you!

I could not find a plug as the unit is built in but I did shut off the circuit at the circuit box and it seems to have done the trick.

Thank you so much Skill Will!!!

I have a Jenn-Air Model W256W. I was going to self clean, changed my mind, and then went to bake. Now I have "F8" flashing in red letters, the fan comes on, and when it isn't running, the oven beeps. I can't begin a clean cycle either. I have turned the oven off at the circuit breaker, left it off all night, and it hasn't corrected the problem. Thanks for any help! Q F

I have a Jenn-air Model W256W. I started Clean mode, changed my mind, went to Bake mode and "F8" in red began flashing on the screen and the oven began beeping. I pressed cancel, but the oven fan began to run and the door locked. Within a couple of minutes, the "F8" began flashing again and beeping began. I repeated cancel and the fan began, "F8" disappeared, and the fan ran. I turned off the oven/microwave at the circuit box, left it off overnight, but the fault has not cleared itself. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you! Queen Frag

I have a jenn-air model w256w double oven which I just installed, the upper oven will not turn on; the only function pad that works is the probe and the cancel button. The lower oven does work. Any ideas of what to do. The oven is new, never been used.
Thanks for your help

Hi Randy

first try to unplug the unit, let it sit for a while then plug it back in, if you still get the code look on the back of the unit there should be an envelope that has a paper inside it, that paper should list what the code means.

I have a problem with my jenn-air oven model w256w. On the touch appear F8 alarm. What can I do?

Hello- The code described- F8 indicates a failure in the clock, or control that operates oven. There is no simple 'fix' to this problem. "Self- clean" is the usual cause of board failure. Find a good tech to check it out on site Get an estimate before repair, and remember- Avoid "self-destruct" feature in the future. --Please reply if this info helps- have more if needed.  Thanks- Ed

More then likely your electronic clock control board is going bad. After turning the power off, you can also try cleaning the connectors on the clock board and make sure the connectors are tight.

Replace doors on jenn air oven with stainless

It is possible but usually costs more than the oven is worth. Call Marcone appliance parts in St. Louis for pricing.
