Maytag Dryer I have a Maytag Model#LDE8200ACW. The dryer runs, but it will not heat and the knob will not move. Is there something I can look at that might fix the problem.

Yes inside the front panel ther is a white plastic thermal fuse with two wires going to it, if the dryer overheats this fuse will open, disabling the heater, check for open with meter.

This control could be the problem IF the blower wheel ain't stripped, the dryer is clean, and the duct work is free of air restrictions. It is located on the blower housing next to the fuse.ec8cbee.jpg

I have a maytag dryer and when you start it the timer doesn't move - it will run for hours unless you stop it. now when you pull the knob to start it doesn't respond

Sounds like the problem is in your timer contacts, in which case you would have to replace your timer. A no heat scenario on auto dry could also cause a dryer to run continuously.

Hope this helps _MJ_

Heating Element rattling

I would not run the dryer and check the wires to the element and make sure there are no burned wires. I would also replace the heating element. It should not be loose in any way
