It just like a flash drive.. if you have a laptop you can save your files in that drive.

Green light wont stay on on memorex traveldrive

The light signals a connection between the hard disk inside the Traveldrive to its case. If it fails that means that the hard disk is dead. The unit has died, junk it and buy a new one, hard disks can't be repaired.

When I plug in the travel drive, it does not show

The only way to recover the data will be to try a company that specifically deals with Drive Data Recovery. This will not be cheap, so you will have to decide on the value of the data you are trying to retrieve

Device Manager says ok but can not open

Open Windows Help and Support.
Search for "assign drive letter".
Make sure the drive is using a drive letter that is already in use on your computer.

I hope this helps.

Physical damage on the memorex travel drive - the disk is making a noise when it is plugged in but it is unable to show any files on the computer

Hello,

it can be fixed if the hard drive is not damaged. If its damaged, you will have to get another one.

I don't stay in Perth, so I would not know where to find a repairer in Perth.

Maybe you should look around, you might find someone who can repair in Perth.

Take care.

My Memorex 320 gb ultra travel drive is not working correctly; when I search a file, it finds it but then some of them don't open and I can hear a clicking sound on the disk like if it was searching for...

Sounds like the HDD is failing or failed. Try removing side cover to your PC (Switched off and unplugged from power supply) remove the CD cable / plug it into the ext HDD (Dismantled) boot into Windows.
If the PC cannot read the drive then it is damaged with loss of all files. If you can read it, I suggest you transfer backed up files to your PC before it fails completely.

You should give Test Disk a try. It's a little complicated at first but if you read the tutorial it's easy.

Here's a link to their wiki page.

Some pc's don't recognize my travel drive

I have a USB hard drive, and I have noticed that on some systems the current Draw on the USB port is too high for systems with unpowered / Low power USB ports, and therefore it doesn't work for that system,

this issue can be bypassed by using a "powered" USB hub
