You could possibly have a defective High Voltage Splitter , these are common failures with RCA's. It's not something you can repair yourself. It's not an expensive repair. I would say about $150.00 if that's the problem.

When I push the on button the green light comes on for second or two then goes out.(will not stay turned on long enough to even get a picture on the screen.Mitsibishi Model # WS-55315

This set has a self check feature--if set has been unplugged it clears the error buffer--plug in and try to turn on set.

When green light comes on and then goes off ON THE FRONT OF THE SET press and hold BOTH the menu and input(device) buttons at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a 2 digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat the code for a total of five times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will explain it.

1 have a 6 year-old Mitsubishi model WS-48511 series 1080 rear projection TV that now won't turn on. A few days ago we shut the TV off, and now when i plug it in the blinking green power light...

This is called the blinking green light of death-----only one of two things can cause this problem.

First: remove front speaker grill (IT PULLS OFF) AND remove inspection plate behind it; look for the two bundles of wires coming down and to the right from the front keyboard of the set.

Unplug both plugs you find (different and marked so you cannot mix them up-----the idea is to take the front keyboard out of circuit-----set will still function with remote as receiver is behind front screen)

Try (after 70 seconds) to turn on with remote

If it comes on---defective reset button on front keyboard----use set only with remote or remove and remove actual reset switch---it is located behind and part of frame for screen----entire front screen would have to be removed to get at it.

Second: if disconnection of the front keyboard does not help, the DM unit is bad.

As you look from back of set it is large metal box at extreme left side.

The blinking light is the unit trying to "Boot" up-----these have a problem where caps and a few other parts in that unit fail-----kits on the net are available----Mitsubishi no longer sells or services these units but PTS Electronics does repair them.

Let me know if you have questions and try disconnection of the front keyboard FIRST.

65" mitsubishi rear projection tv won't turn

IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off:
On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.

I have no power, i called a repair man, he said unplug it then push the reset button...i get a blinking green light for a few seconds...now what?

The set if it has a DM unit when unplugged should blink for 70 seconds and allow you to turn on.

If it does not, if when you try to turn on green light comes on and goes off---do the self check:

Press and hold both the menu and input buttons for 5 seconds and release both; power light should blink a two digit error code at least 5 times. 2 blinks, pause and 2 blinks is the most common.

If the set has a reset button on the front it has a DM unit---built in receiver--even if it fails the green power light will blink nonstop.

Again, if you try to turn on and green power light comes on and then goes off---do the self check and let me know what you find.

If this information was helpful rate this solution as "very helpful" as I do this here for free.

Also let me know what you do or do not find as I am here to help you.
