Question about Kenmore 51562 / 51564 / 51569
Our kenmore refrigerator is about 5 years old. Within the past year we have noticed that the water dispenser will dispense something with the water that looks like a wet piece of paper. If you let it stick to the side of your glass, it eventually looks slimy. You can also lift it out of the glass and it seems to be some sort of slime. It has nothing to do with the filter. We have changed the filter several times in the past year with no change to the algae/slime. It seems to be on the sides of the tubing that runs through the refrigerator before being dispensed. Any suggestions on how to get rid of whatever it is?

Hi I dont have the knowledge of your fridge, but I'm just going to throw this idea your way , please forgive me if im wrong :)
Perhaps the problem is due to syphonage, the discharged liquids are creating a vacuum along the line.
Did you reposition the height of any supply hoses ? none of them should be above/higher the outlet source itself.
You could also try installing a inline reverse flow suppressor
(small plastic filter that only allows one-way direction of flow.

check and see if the ice is fully formed or look hollow / if hollow then run you a new water line to frig / if cubes are full then replace water valve.

If you can't hear the solenoid on the water
inlet valve(it's on the back where the water supply hooks up) when you try the
water then the water switch on the dispenser is at fault.
If you do hear it Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it doesleave the door open till it thaws.
If it doesn't come out there disconnect it at the water inlet valve and see if it comes out there.
