Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
To connect this scanner with my PC, apparently, according to HP, I have to chain scanner and printer off same parallel port. If so, what part number do I need---or is there a simpler way to accomplish this connection without chainning the printer and the scanner?
Thanks for your help
I don't think you can (successfully) run this scanner off the paralell port. I'm drawing on memory here but I think this scanner has serial and usb ports. If you are running Windows XP, use the USB hookup. If you are running Windows 95, 98, Milliniaum then you might want to use the serial port. At any rate the scanner software should be installed before you plugin the scanner.
If I'm completely "full of it" and you really want to use a Paralell connection then you might want to use a paralell to USB adaptor (Belkin, perhaps others make one of these).
