Bought new computer. says i have incorrect key for my cd micro.office home and student 2007

Generally most of the computers comes pre-installed Operating System along with its recovery disk. But as far as Microsoft Office is concerned, most vendor installs trial edition provided by Microsoft. After 60 days they get expired and you need to purchase the product to continue using it. It seems that its the same thing in your case. However there is an alternative to Microsoft Office Suite. You can download Open Office from (http://download.services.openoffice.org/files/stable/3.2.0/OOo_3.2.0_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe). Open Office is an open source office suite supported by Sun Micro Systems the inventor Java. You can freely download it and use it as long as you want to.
Cheers!

Windows operating system disabled, there is no product recovery disks

If it is a "brand-name" computer (Dell, IBM, Acer, Lenovo, eMachine, et cetera) then contact the manufacturer, and order a replacement set of "System Recovery" CD-ROMs. Since your computer was shipped with a license to use Microsoft Windows, just use the disks to restore your computer to "factory" settings.

Remember to "backup" all your data files, E-mail, and music, before starting to reinstall.

Microsoft office standard 2003 not functioning.

the trouble with automated updates is that sometimes they cannot be distinguished from new product registrations. You need to call Microsoft and they will fix this for you. If you are in Canada the information is Tel: 905-568-0434
Fax: 905-568-1527
Web: www.microsoft.ca

I lost some of my settings-microsoft word is just gone--can you have it reinstalled to this computer? How can I get the original factory settings back? I dont have a recovery disk?

Somewhere within your stash of Gateway disks, there might be a disk to restore Microsoft Office. If not, I would suggest contacting Gateway computers to see what your options are. They most likely have had this sort of question asked before. If not, you'll have to look at purchasing Microsoft Office. You shouldn't have to, but contact Gateway regardless.

hello,
I would try to use the windows backup and recovery feature if it's enabled. restore it to the previous day, also, for the windows system, did you create a backup disk. if so you should be able to reload any pre-existing programs to your system by running a restore from the recovery. without loosing all your personal files. also some will have an option when creating a recovery disk to make an applications recovery disk. If you haven't created these, i would check into this in the future.
