Question about HP PSC 2410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer won't work

After a brief power outage this morning, when the power was restored, the printer started "chugging" and the tiny screen is now constantly showing the start-up hourglass. Usually restoring my computer to an earlier time has fixed any problems with this printer, but not this time. I uninstalled/reinstalled the software, but that didn't help either. Also, when the printer power is initially started, it "chugs" for about a minute, then continually holds the hourglass in the tiny screen. Is there anything else I can try to get this printer to work again? Help! I'm REALLY need this fixed!

Thanks!

Does this mean my situation is hopeless? I've tried holding down the "Cancel" button while turning the printer on (as several had success on message boards), but it doesn't work for me. Are there any other things I could try?

I have the same problem, which started when I tried to email a scan. It thumps away and the green light just keeps flashing. Eventually the thumping stops, but the green light keeps flashing and no message appears in the window.

My area recently had a power failure. Oddly, during the power failure I could still see a light coming from the Canon MG5220 printer. After power was restored, it was sometime later when I noticed that...

Unfortunately, it sounds like when the power was restored, the printer experienced a surge. If this was not plugged into a surge protector, then it's possible the switch was fried at the point of power restoration. It is important that with units such as printers, monitors, towers (computer), tv's, vcr/dvd players, almost any type of electrical appliance be plugged into a surge protector. However, even if this was true in this case - when a power shortage (outage) is experienced, it is necessary to unplug everything so that when the power is restored, nothing that is plugged in will be affected; as your printer was.
Now, you can have this fixed - either take it to a local computer repair shop; that might be able to fix it, or contact the manufacturer and inquire about sending the unit in for repair - regardless of warranty or not. If it is still under warranty, they may honor it. I am not positive they will for an accidental damage such as this, but it's worth calling them.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Good morning, i was printing and the printer shut

Try to unplug the power adapter from the printer. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet in the wall. Replug the power cord after at least 10 seconds - bypass any power surge devices or power strips. Replug the power adapter into the printer. Your printer should automatically power on, otherwise, press the power button. If the printer still won't power on, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

After a brief power outage during a thunderstorm my canon i9900 will not turn on. I left it un pluged for several hours and then repluged it and still nothing. Everything else in the office works fine.

The power supply of your printer are damage due to the brief power output during the thunderstorm. Just check the fuse inside of the power supply of the printer if they have some burned or else use the Multi Tester to identify that the fuse are damage or needed for replacement.

We had a brief power outage--now prinker knunks

In all probability that Power Outage caused a massive Spike or Surge on your power line. This has affected this unit. It doesn't take much to cause this type of thing and is quite common. It may be repairable, however these days buying a new one is often a better option. If you do go the repair route, go to a reputable place, & please ensure you get a firm "Quote" not an "Estimate" for repair.

Printer offline after power outage. Restore?

Hi, Joy.

Give these a try:

1. Right-click on your printer icon and select "Offline" to uncheck and bring it back Online again.

2. Let your printer cool down for at least 5 minutes. Power it on again.

3. If you are connected to a power surge protector, flip the switch and power the printer on to see if the printer powers on again.

4. Connect your printer to a different outlet.

5. If not a power issue, remove and reinstall the printer driver.

Hope this helps.
