On this piticular device, it is NOT a screen, merely a way of lighting up to indicate device activity.

You are thinking of a different device, sorry.

You can also use that method to delete files from your device. Supported video formats include WMV, FLV, and AVI.

Instructions

  1. Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

  2. Click "My Computer." Select "Removable Disk."

  3. Select the "Videos" folder.

  4. Drag and drop the video files you want on the device into the Videos folder associated with the MP3 player's disk.

How do I charge my 1808L mp3 8gb portable media player

You should have received a short USB cord with your 1808.
First, turn the mp3 player OFF.
Next plug the small end of the cord into the bottom of the 1808.
Then plug the other end into any USB port of your computer.
You should get a popup message saying that your computer has found a new device, if not, after one minute, turn on the 1808.
The mp3 player charges any time it is plugged into the USB port,

Player isnt turning on , it flashes blue and turns back off , but theres still a dim blue light still on

Try resetting the device it’s usually a small pinhole on the back or side of the device try holding that in for about 10 seconds

or

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer’s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

Generic chinese mp3 player not recognized by computer

your MP3 player probably shorted. Try to drain the battery and charge it. Hopefully this solves the problem. If it doesn't your mp3 player is probably dead.

My ilo mp3 of 1 gb

no you don't need the SD, its just extra :) let your computer boot up, plug in the USB cord, and you should hear that famous little "bo-dunk!" sound that tells you something just got plugged in and windows freakin' found it. then a screen may or may not come up asking you what you want to do. if so, its pretty self explanatory from there. if you don't want to use whatever it asks for, go to WMP and go to Sync. Add your songs to the list by copy and paste, and it should say its adding the files to the device. also, if you watch the screen of the mp3 player, you'll see it flash "USB Transferring", showing that its gobbling up the songs you're feeding it (in a good sense) lol. After all the songs are copied, boot up the player (you might have to unplug it first) and make sure they work. Sometimes they freeze, sometimes they dont. For me, when they freeze i just get rid of em. I don't know how to fix the freezing, i guess its just a mishap of technology...they're everywhere. Anyways, try this and let me know what happens. hope this helps :)
