To RESTORE your system as it was out from the factory (if I got it right...) and if you have the RESTORING CDs you have to do like this:
### insert the first CD (if are many) in the tray ### 1. RESTART your machine 2. when the LOGO SCREEN appears press F8 or F10 or F11 (it depends on each brand) and select the BOOTING MEDIA - in your case the CD MEDIA/DVD MEDIA 3. select FACTORY RESTORING or DEFAULT RESTORING or SYSTEM RESTORE 4. follow the instructions as they will appear on your screen 5. let the machine reinstall its system
WARNING: WHEN YOU WILL REINSTALL THE SYSTEM YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR FILES FROM THE HARD DRIVE! So save on an external hard drive or on some DVDs your precious files.
first satrt ur system in the safemode and if it starts u will b getting a restore ballon, then u can b able to restore to ur last restore point...
if u dint find any restore point, then insert the vista which u had installed before and click on repair instead of formatting...
For boot from disk first you have to set first boot device option in BIOS. for that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios. Then go to boot menu then set first boot device as your cd/dvd rom. then save settings then insert recovery diks in rom then check. Then it boot from disk if your disk and cd.dvd rom works fine. Let me know if you need more assistance. Thanks.
do not worry at all. take out the cd and reboot in safe mode by pressing F8 at bootup. Then you can restore your laptop to an earlier date from Start->All progs->Accessories->System->restore.
reboot normal this time.
Well a restore CD/DVD can be created by you and kept for your use in case any crash(system) and anyway you can keep on working and save your work as we normally do. You can also create the restore CD now if you want to!............sodeep
Go to device manager and delete the CD-ROM Drive and restart the system (this will get auto installed). You can also do a System Restore to a point/date when the issue was not present. (start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore)
If you don't have any CDs you could try the F10 key to see if you have the contents of the CDs hidden on your hard drive. It is the same steps as above except instead of inserting a CD you would use the following as step 2:
When the Compaq logo appears, press the F10 key on the keyboard. (You have only a few seconds to press the F10 key before the normal startup process continues.)
If you this doesn't work and you are certain you don't have your recovery CDs you can get a new set directly from Compaq from the following site: https://warp2.external.hp.com/driver/dr_country_select.asp?Product=438985-001&lang=en&cc=us
